We had the good fortune of connecting with Tama Tran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tama, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a professional woman, I understand the value of self-care, and I am passionate about providing the best individualized treatment for my clients. In doing so, I am utilizing my experience and knowledge in blending science, medicine and technology in providing aesthetic services. Lily Med Spa is the fruition of my dream. We provide treatments from injectables like Botox, dermal fillers and PDO threads, body contouring like CoolSculpting and Emsculpt, laser treatments like BBL Photofacials and Halo Resurfacing to HydraFacials. I feel that Lily Med Spa makes a social impact in helping the community improve their appearance, and perhaps to improve self-confidence. Aesthetic treatments bridge the gap between beauty and health. Beauty includes the need to feel good in one’s own skin, in having a psycho-physical balance. After all, who doesn’t want to look good while feeling good?

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Opening a new practice, whether it’s an aesthetic practice or another type of business, is risky. I started out solo in a two-room office and worked tirelessly without a salary for the first few years. I was determined to offer the best-possible care to patients and to build my brand. Before long, Lily Med Spa became an established clinic in Dallas.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Dallas is a great place to eat out, go shopping, catch a Mavs game or attend the symphony. Some of my favorite restaurants are Shinsei, Tei Tei, Le Bilboquet, Toulouse, Bullion, Nick and Sam’s, Beverley’s Bistro and Bar, Drake’s, Cafe Madrid and Lakewood Landing. NorthPark Center and Highland Park Village have world class stores, which can satisfy anyone’s retail needs. The Dallas Mavericks and the Dallas Cowboys are some of the best teams in the country. When in season, catching a game is an event in Dallas. When the weather is nice, the Dallas Arboretum has acres of beautifully designed gardens and is a perfect place for photo-ops. When you are in the mood for the arts, the Meyerson is ranked one of the world’s greatest orchestra halls and the Winspear Opera House is nearby should you be in the mood to take in an opera.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
That’s a difficult question, but I think that the success of Lily Med Spa is likely based on several factors, including our customized treatment for each client, our well-trained staff and the use of the best technology in devices combined with our knowledge and experience. A big shout out to our loyal clients and our growing staff, which consists of a renowned plastic surgeon, a sought after nurse practitioner injector, experienced laser technicians and aestheticians.
