Meet David Diffen | Fence and metal buildings contractor

We had the good fortune of connecting with David Diffen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi David, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
When I moved to Texas with my family and started Paddco LLC, a fence and metal buildings company, I lost all my savings. I started from zero! no network, no clients, no safety net. There were many dark nights wondering if I should give up.
I kept going by asking one simple question: Is giving up the only way to guarantee I fail? My family believed in me, in my decisions and in the business.
All of these small signs of progress, happy customers, good reviews, repeat work helped me pushing forward.
The demand for quality fencing in Texas was real, so I outworked my doubts one job at a time. Resilience beats talent when talent gets tired.
Never quit on a bad day!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m still growing every day and looking forward to a much brighter future. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to never give up. Resilience beats talent when talent gets tired. I do this for my family, for my wife and for my daughter.
that’s what drives me to keep going and put everything in my company.
I’m most proud of how far we’ve come, our commitment to doing the job right the first time with honest communication and quality work that lasts.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Days 1-2: Explore the beautiful historic Town Square & Wise County Courthouse. Murals, shops, coffee at Trinity Street, dinner at Rooster’s Roadhouse or Casa Torres Mexican.
• Day 3: Full day at LBJ National Grasslands – hiking, biking, wildlife, and nature.
• Days 4-6: More square hangs, Lake Bridgeport, local wineries, parks, and BBQ. Relaxed small-town vibe with friendly locals.
• Day 7: Final square stroll and favorite eats before heading out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest shoutout goes to my brother. He worked with me every single day building Paddco LLC, showing up and grinding even when there was zero guarantee the business would make it.
And to my family for their constant daily support. they believed in me and kept me going through the hardest times. I couldn’t have done any of this without them.
