We had the good fortune of connecting with Davante Thornton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Davante, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m originally from Arkansas. From a small country town close to the Texas border. Living there helped me appreciate the little things in life. Family, making time to enjoy hobbies etc.

To the point even now, living in the city I can always make due with cherishing the simple things in life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Currently, I’m most proud of my expression of singing and music. Being able to freely enjoy myself singing as others enjoy being a part of the experience. I’ve been singing my whole life, yet the beginning of what I do in Dallas started with Randy McGill and the Eclectic. And was taken to new heights when I was blessed to know and sing with the late, great Daniel Jones.

And it only became easy to perform when I became comfortable with me musically. The biggest lesson I learned was that GENUINE originality and moving with love is the baseline for longevity and growth.

My brand is really just being a simple man with a genuine love for music and a person that you can experience good things with

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
lol welp I might take the to some GOOD live music spots I like. Winging it more than anything

Drive around hitting Frisco/plano for some arcades or game room fun.

Finding a nice Mediterranean spot (I love their food) for eating

Then we might go to the outskirts to find a small club were they swing out/line dance

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
