Meet Trey Daniel | Worship Leader, Artist and Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Trey Daniel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I started Release Worship LLC, I had a strong desire for the independent underdogs. The ones who were extraordinarily different but went under the radar. Those who were gifted but didn’t have the connections to be exposed to the world. The truth of the matter was that those persons that I identified were me. For years and since I was a youth, people had told me how amazing I was; how I should be traveling the world singing using my gift. I never imagined people would know who Trey Daniel was because I just didn’t know how to successfully make it in this industry of music especially as an Independent Artist. I crafted Release Worship to be that Independent Artist hub where everyone felt like somebody that had the potential to make it. Where everyone had the space to be exactly who they were designed to be. Release Worship is simply a place of Freedom.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have to say that I’ve learned to fall in love with the gift of song that I was blessed to have. I realize that’s different to hear but yes, I actually love my voice. My ability to sing whatever and flow in the most authentic way truly I can not take credit for, I’m simply grateful. I’m most proud of the fact that I can even say that now. I’ve always been humbled by what others say about me or how I am perceived. For a long time, I couldn’t stand to hear myself sing and would always question why I had the gift I had because it brought me so much pain. Being young, having a pure gift and being your authentic self comes with many challenges to which I also have to say I’m grateful for as well. Had it not been for the challenges, pains and disappointments, I can honestly say I probably would not be who I am today. I’ve learned that no matter what, always remain true to yourself. You can’t change people’s perception of you nor should you try. You should only concern yourself with trying everyday to be the best you that you can be getting better everyday. I’ve also learned to have more grace for everyone even those who may not have had the best intentions for me. None of us are perfect but it is how we respond to the chaos of the world that determines just how our next steps will play out. And, lastly to simply Accept what God allows. There’s nothing we can do to change what or how anything happens in this world. It’s all about how we respond that makes or breaks us. I want the world to know that Trey Daniel is simply a loving young man with a dream and purpose to make a difference spreading the Gospel to the world. I want everyone to know that they have a place in Release Worship. We all have a greater purpose if we simply focus on what’s ahead.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1:
After picking them up from DFW, we’d start with dinner at Kitchen & Kocktails, followed by live music at The Free Man Cajun Café in Deep Ellum.
Day 2:
We’d explore The Dallas Museum of Art, grab lunch at Black Jack Pizza’s which happens to be one of my favorite Pizza places in Dallas, and visit the Bishop Arts District just to walk around and see the scenery.
Day 3:
Sunday means church so we’re definitely visiting my home church Antioch Fellowship and brunch at Bread Winners Café. We’d unwind at Klyde Warren Park with the skyline and there’s also several food options I like there as well to choose from it just depends on the day!
Day 4:
We’d definitely hit Legacy West for food at Haywire and browsing at Legacy Hall, ending the night with a movie at Cinépolis.
Day 5:
We’d visit one of my favorite fish spots, Louisiana Catfish, and then we’d probably go to TopGolf simply cause that’s where I go to just enjoy my personal time. And possibly if we have time stop for some BBQ at Terry Blacks.
Day 6:
Breakfast at Jonathan’s , then the African American Museum.
Day 7:
Brunch at Yolk, a walk at White Rock Lake, and tacos from Fuel City before they head out!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to Shoutout my mother. She is the epitome of what it means to not give up on your dreams. Ever since I can remember, she pushed me more and more into my purpose. Even when I didn’t see the potential in myself, she saw it in me. I’m talking someone who not only is nurturing but coaches, critiques and cares for my wellbeing. She let’s me know when I need to improve and when I am doing best I can. Her message always reminds me to not fall in love with the applause of people because their criticism will tear me down if I allow it. She’s never missed a concert or engagement and I simply appreciate her for always being there. I am the man I am today because of her strength.
