We had the good fortune of connecting with Ivy Dika and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ivy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After starting my personal health journey, I begun to learn a lot about health and wellness and begun implementing changes not only in my own life but also that of my family as I became a mom. I became of the conviction that one of the most loving things I could do for my family and consequently other loved ones is to make them food that will contribute to good health. But it was equally important to me that they enjoyed their food, so I endeavored to master the art of making delicious food without sacrificing health and vice versa.

I soon realized that there was a great need in propagating the message to people that healthy food didn’t have to be mutually exclusive to delicious food. Beyond that, I became aware that there was even more of a need to educate and equip people to prioritize their health through nourishing meals and lifestyles.

What should our readers know about your business?
Until very recently, NYORISH comprised of the meal service department (which features our infamous online popup store) and the Nutrition counseling department. It has since grown and evolved to the point that we are actually currently in a period of transition, as we separate the Nutrition department to be a stand alone practice called WHOLLY NYORISHED.

NYORISH Nutrition and Meal Services aims to make nourishing living attainable and attractive by providing a convenient and delicious spin on healthy meals.

Wholly Nyorished Nutrition Practice is all about providing clients with a nourishing approach to taking back and taking charge of their health. Sadly, we are all aware of the growing epidemic of various health issues and health problems plaguing us. The good news is that we have a lot more control than we’re led to believe. And it’s not so much a matter of doing a bunch of complicated stuff like we may think. As I like to say, sometimes health is a simply just a matter of doing the fundamental things consistently. No matter what cards life dealt us, whether with our genetics or our socio-economic status, there’s hope of getting healthier. It’s possible to take certain steps to move the needle of our health and wellness forward, and sometimes this is as simple as sleeping. As a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Certified Holistic Practitioner that specializes in Gut Health, I am honored to come along side as many people as possible, supporting and empowering them with my expertise.

Now to answer the question of what sets me apart…
Well, I believe there are many things that sets apart my business and brand. I’ll first highlight some of my customers’ favorites – the genuine love I pour into everything and the sheer attention to detail that goes into every step, from production to delivery.

If I had to pick, I would say the unique combination of excellence, integrity and diligence that accompanies my huge passion sets my brand apart. It isn’t unusual for someone to be passionate about what they do BUT for me it goes beyond that. It’s a virtue and core value of mine to do things in the most excellent manner possible, compelled by love, inspired by creativity and most importantly in submission to the Word of God which exhorts to do everything as though I were doing it for God himself. You’ll usually find 1 Corinthians 10:31, “therefore whether you eat or drink, whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God”, on our packaging. Not only is it a reminder to you to eat to the glory of God, being mindful of what and how you eat BUT also our signature assuring you that we provide the products we do and work diligently to serve you, to glory of God!

In terms of my Nutrition practice, I super passionate about this field and in awe of how amazing God made the human body and all the built-in intricacies of the body. I’m also a firm believer that if we are kind to our bodies, it is usually kind back to us and so I’m driven to help as many people take charge of their health as possible. In spite of having the reputation of being extremely knowledgeable about this field, I am continually learning and will continue to. Thus my expertise will only continue to improve and prayerfully, I’ll be able to help a diverse and wide range of people!

One of the things that makes NYORISH Meal Services exceptional is not only the fact that you’re getting food and products that are homemade with lots of love, but also from a nutritionist who only puts out what is good enough for her own family to eat. And anyone who knows how I feed my family, will tell you I am extremely intentional with what they eat.

I would say what sets it apart and that I’m most proud of though, is that we’re the only meal service company/brand that is on a mission to make sure you’re not just nourished physically but Holistically! And because we believe good health is all encompassing-physical, mental, emotional and spiritual- we make it our priority to nourish you holistically. In fact our mantra is “BE WHOLLY NOURISHED” One way we achieve this is through our complimentary ‘NYORISH Your Soul’ program, a free resource that’s available to all customers.

Ultimately, here’s what I want you to know about NYORISH, it’s not just a business or a brand but a movement. Our mission is
-to nourish you (holistically) and to aid you in your quest to nourish your loved ones,
-to influence the holistic health academia and industry, providing a powerful Christian worldview that’s often missing
-to equip as many people with the knowledge and resources to take back their health in order to live out their God-given purpose.

If you resonate with this, join the many others who also resonate with our mission and help us spread this message near and far by sharing about us to your friends, family and on your social media pages! Together we WILL create the largest community of informed, health-conscious and holistically well people who are aware that health is the only currency to this life and are determined to spend this currency wisely in order to live out their beautiful God-given purpose! Let’s do this!🌱🫶🏾

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being hospitable is something that matters deeply to me. So, in all honesty if my best friend was visiting, most of the time would be at home with me spoiling them. I would most probably make them a lot of yummy and nutritious meals at home, pouring lots of love into it. Thankfully my friends typically prefer my food to eating out anyways.

I’m a homebody so a good portion of our time may be relaxing at home and engaging in great conversations, providing them with a restful environment to unwind and recharge, spoiling them and serving them in whichever ways I can. We might have a special movie night watching something fun and inspirational. We’ll probably play Ludo (IYKYK!) or some other games. Over the course of the week we might also go shopping a bit, maybe hit up Hobby Lobby or some of my fave stores; probably hit up a class or two of Pilates; perhaps grab a smoothie or something from Identity Coffee in Leominster.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I love this question! In fact one of the tenets that undergirds the holistic model of wellness is the understanding of the complex interplay between us as individuals and the communities and cultures that make us, and how that affects our health/wellness.

With that said, my first shoutouts will have to go to my family(husband and children) whose encouragement is actually what triggered the launch of NYORISH from the dormant dream that it had been for over 5 years. To my husband Edison not only for encouraging me to go for it but also for being the very first investor for NYORISH. Thank you!🤎 And my beautiful children are literally my biggest “fans”, they get super excited about everything I do for my business.

I’m also very grateful for my friends and extended family who have been of tremendous support and encouragement. I also have to shout out my friend (and previously my midwife) Kim Lueders of Metrowest Midwifery who played a pivotal role in the conception of this business.

And I would like to extend my most heartfelt gratitude to Dr Sam Ameyaw and his wife Mercy Ameyaw, Director of The Proverbs 31 project, who have been a consistent source of encouragement and support!

Of course this business and brand is only possible with the patronage of customers and clients so I’m very grateful to everyone who has believed in it enough to support one way or another!
