Meet Jacob Peroyea | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacob Peroyea and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacob, how do you think about risk?
I think risk should be approached with open arms. When I first started my career in photography, I was very reserved and didn’t have any intentions of networking and taking chances. As I grew in my career, I began to realize that closed mouths don’t get fed. I began to reach out to everyone, network with everyone, and accept opportunities I normally wouldn’t accept.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a concert photographer. I like to describe my work as a glimpse into my artistic expression through another artist’s being. I try to bring light to the unseen moments of each concert and event I’m at. My work takes the ordinary and makes it extraordinary. Im post proud of my work with FC Dallas and Whiskey Myers. I got to where I am now professionally by connecting with the right people at the right time. It wasn’t easy. If time was a weapon, it was used against me. Patience is key. Ive learned some key lessons along the way. You can get what you want by meeting the right person, and the mind is the only barrier. I think the world should know that I am capable and more than willing to do anything that is thrown my way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I could take my best friend to the best places in my area, Id definitely go to Cadillac Pizza in Downtown McKinney to kick off the week. Id hit up Red Zepplin Records, Antique Company Mall, and Neighbor Books. The rest of the week wed hang out in Deep Ellum at Legacy Recording Studio, Dated Faded Worn, and Terry Blacks. The coolest people are wherever you are. You atttract who you want to see!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to help dedicate my story to Ponder Publications, Respective Collective, and Best Live Shows. They helped me grow and receive incredible opportunities to shoot for some of my favorite artists.
