Meet Emma Anderson | Digital Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emma Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emma, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Eating healthy and living toxin-free is extremely important to me. After being diagnosed with Celiac Disease, an autoimmune disease activated by gluten, 7 years ago, I discovered just how hard it is trying to find delicious, tummy-safe restaurants and experiences. After years of focusing on what I can’t eat, I decided to create an Instagram account filled with celiac-safe foods and experiences! Thus Oh.Em.GlutenFree was born!
Since starting my account in January of 2025, I have worked with big name brands, discovered the endless gluten-free options that DFW has to offer, and also educated myself on where gluten is hidden most. I also quickly realized that I’m not the only person that would benefit from the mindset shift and having a virtual menu with pictures, videos, and all information I would spend hours finding.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from others is that I focus on gluten-free and having a healthy lifestyle. I am most proud of how many people that have messaged me saying they love my mission and it is helping them work towards finding joy in food again. People specific diets are struggling with finding joy in eating out or grocery shopping because they are constantly reminded of how much they can’t have. It is a hard problem to fix but with more awareness and positivity on the subject, more restaurants and food companies are making space for more options.
It was not easy at first. I have learned that some people are very mean and degrading about food allergies or diets. Waitstaff is not always knowledgable about common issues and this makes eating out hard. I try to highlight restaurants that go the extra mile and if someone on staff is uneducated over the topic, I respectfully help them out. I also learned that not everyone knows how to order and advocate for safe practices with their food. I love to highlight how I order and what tips and tricks I use to make sure that I am given celiac-safe, to the best of the kitchen’s ability, food!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area I would pick her up from DFW airport and immediate take her to Pinch of Salt bakery in Grapevine, TX. They are a 100% gluten-free bakery. They have endless and actually yummy options. From quiches to donuts, they never disappoint! We would also make sure to eat at HG Supply Co in Dallas. They have the BEST vegan and gluten-free queso! For activities we’d be sure to visit The Star in Frisco and grab some Cowboys merch before heading to AT&T Stadium for a game. The next day we would explore downtown McKinney. They have FOUR wineries, the cutest town square, and the best shopping. I’d take my bestie to Landry Kate and Willow House to shop and make time to stop at Landon Winery for a tasting. Last stop on our list would be the Dallas Farmers Market. I always find the best produce, baked goods, and gifts there.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
One of my friends, Kelly aka Peanut_Butter_Kelly_Eats, brought me along on one of her Instagram collabs with a coffee shop. I got to learn what she does as a foodie influencer and the ins and outs of promoting/digital marketing from her that day. Since starting my account, she has been cheering me on and giving me all the tips and tricks! I am also surrounded by other friends that are gluten-free, dairy-free, or keto that are regularly sending me businesses they want me to visit, encouraging me, and being so patient while I film content during our meals. Thank you to all my friends that have helped me grow as a creator!
