Hi Susana, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My career as a Hair and Makeup artist is deeply impactful because I have the privilege of enhancing my clients confidence and joy during some of the most significant moments of their lives. By helping Brides and individuals feel beautiful and empowered, I contribute to their happiness and self-esteem. Additionally, I strive to create a positive environment where my clients feel valued and supported, fostering a sense of community and connection. Through my work, I not only beautify appearances but also uplift spirits, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those I serve.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been passionately working as a hair and makeup artist for 16 years, having graduated from Tint Makeup School and Cosmetology.
My journey began behind the chair in a salon, where I honed my skills in chemical treatments and haircuts. However, my true passion for hair and makeup has always been a driving force in my career.

Throughout my professional life, I’ve faced challenges, particularly feeling stagnant at times, which led me to take the bold step of creating my own brand, Hair Makeup by Susy.
For the past nine years, I’ve built my business from the ground up, cultivating a loyal clientele and striving for success every day. This journey has not been easy; it has required resilience and continuous learning. I’ve sought out classes and training with some of the best national and International Makeup Artist and Hairstylist to refine my skills, which has been instrumental in my growth.

One of my proudest moments was being nominated this year in the top 50 Editorial Makeup Artists in the prestigious @oneshotawards (One Shot Awards) from the company Behind the Chair is a worldwide competition in the Hair and Makeup world. This recognition was a significant milestone for me, showcasing my work on a global platform.
Additionally, I fulfilled a dream by working in Italy, providing hair and makeup services.

What sets me apart is my relentless drive to improve and my commitment to my clients. I’m always looking for ways to elevate my craft and provide the best experience possible. I want the world to know that my brand is built on passion, dedication, and a genuine desire to make my clients feel beautiful and confident.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely love Mexican food, so my first stop would definitely be Taqueria Salsa Verde in Dallas. After enjoying a delicious meal there, we could explore downtown Dallas.
If my friend enjoys music and nightlife, we could head to Deep Ellum, where there’s always a great bar to check out.

If it’s baseball season, a visit to Arlington would be perfect for catching a Texas Rangers game. After the game, we can have a great time at Texas Live! enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and good food.
To wrap up a fantastic weekend, we should visit the Fort Worth Stockyards. We can indulge in some amazing ribs and barbecue, if we have time, they can catch the show of the Gunfighters cowboys shoot or a good rodeo.
and to top it all off, we’ll treat ourselves to a delicious churro ice cream from Leo’s Churro Bar in Fort Worth. It’s the perfect way to end a fun-filled day!
