We had the good fortune of connecting with Mariany Torres and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mariany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The journey of starting my own business has been a significant one. I have been a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) for nearly 16 years. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020 and everyone was required to return to work, I made the decision to resign from my position and embark on the path of entrepreneurship, I returned to work as an RDA in 2021, taking the time to reflect and decide on the path I truly wanted to pursue. In 2021, I decided that I wanted a career that would allow me to have more time for my family and create meaningful memories. That’s when I began my journey as a Travel Agent. Why did I choose to become a travel agent? Because I had missed many of my daughters’ activities due to a demanding work schedule, and I wanted a profession that would offer me the flexibility to prioritize quality family time.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the proud owner of a travel agency dedicated to creating personalized and unforgettable travel experiences. My commitment to understanding each client’s unique needs sets my business apart, ensuring that every trip becomes a meaningful journey. I take pride in offering tailored itineraries and exceptional customer service, which have helped me build strong relationships with my clients.

I love helping clients create lasting memories while spending quality time with their families. I manage all the details, including monthly payments, and strive to be a trusted resource for them.

I believe it’s crucial to prioritize family time, as these moments enrich our lives. The journey to where I am today has not been easy; I faced significant challenges in building my client base and navigating the travel industry. However, I overcame these obstacles through perseverance, adaptability, and a strong belief in my vision.

I’ve learned valuable lessons about resilience, the importance of strong relationships, and staying flexible in a changing industry. My brand is built on a foundation of passion for travel and a commitment to helping others create lifelong memories. My story reflects determination, family support, and a desire to bring joy and adventure to people’s lives through travel.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: Arrival and Local Flavor

• Lunch: We’d kick off the trip with a delicious lunch at a popular local restaurant known for its traditional dishes.
• Afternoon: After settling in, we’d take a stroll through a nearby park or waterfront area to enjoy the scenery and catch up.
• Dinner: I’d treat my friend to dinner at a trendy rooftop restaurant with stunning views of the city.

Day 2: Exploring Culture and History

• Morning: We’d visit a local museum or art gallery to dive into the area’s culture and history.
• Lunch: A cozy café for some light bites and coffee.
• Afternoon: A guided tour of historical landmarks would be next, providing fascinating insights into the area.
• Dinner: We’d enjoy dinner at a renowned steakhouse or seafood restaurant, followed by a fun night out at a local bar with live music.

Day 3: Outdoor Adventure

• Morning: A hiking trip to a nearby national park would offer breathtaking views and the chance to connect with nature.
• Lunch: A picnic lunch in the park.
• Afternoon: We’d explore the area on bicycles or go for a kayaking adventure if there’s a nearby lake or river.
• Dinner: Dinner at a casual eatery featuring fresh, local ingredients.

Day 4: Day Trip

• All Day: We’d plan a day trip to a nearby city or attraction, exploring new sights, shopping, and trying out local cuisine.
• Dinner: Return in the evening and unwind with dinner at a relaxed restaurant.

Day 5: Relaxation Day

• Morning: A spa day to unwind and pamper ourselves.
• Lunch: Light lunch at a health-conscious café.
• Afternoon: A leisurely stroll through a botanical garden or along the beach.
• Dinner: A dinner at a fusion restaurant that offers a unique twist on classic dishes.

Day 6: Fun and Entertainment

• Morning: A visit to a local market or flea market for some unique finds.
• Lunch: Street food or food truck lunch for a fun twist.
• Afternoon: We’d take a cooking class together to learn how to make a local dish.
• Dinner: Dinner at a themed restaurant, followed by a night out at a comedy club or karaoke bar.

Day 7: Farewell Day

• Morning: A leisurely breakfast at a popular brunch spot.
• Midday: Last-minute shopping or sightseeing before heading to the airport.

Having experiences like this with my best friends is invaluable, and I believe that once you start traveling together, you should keep the tradition alive! I’d recommend planning at least one trip a year to explore new places and create lasting memories.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my recognition to my husband and my two beautiful daughters, who have been my greatest support throughout this journey. My husband has been by my side every step of the way, providing encouragement, understanding, and confidence, even during the most challenging moments. My family has also played a fundamental role, offering their unconditional love and support. Thanks to them, I’ve been able to pursue my dreams with the reassurance that their support will always be there. I am deeply grateful for their presence in my life and for everything they have done to help me get to where I am today.
