Most of the media often paints all businesses with a single stroke, but in our experience businesses are each unique and so many of them are focused on making the world a better place. We’ve highlighted a few such gems below.
Roscoe Compton-kelly | Entrepreneur and Drag Personality
My business, Diamondfire Productions, is focused on not only supporting the local LGBTQIA+ nonprofit community, but additionally supporting our emerging drag talent as well. Several years ago, one of our queens, Marsha Dimes, developed the idea of hosting drag brunches as a mechanism to raise money for various nonprofits in North Texas that supported LGBTQIA+ individuals. Through these drag brunches, we’ve raised over $300,000 for various nonprofits doing amazing work here in North Texas. Casey Reilly | Director of Financial Operations and Development
Solutions provides accessible and affordable addiction treatment services to adult men and women. In the treatment industry, most services are unaffordable to the regular person. Prices can be astronomical. Solutions is proud to provide the same quality (if not higher quality) as other facilities at a rate that anyone, including those experiencing homelessness, can afford. We’ve been known to give an exorbitant amount of services away for free. Over the past 4 years, we’ve given away over $1 Million in services… The impact of this is easy to see… those who have lost it all can get the help that means the difference between life and death. It means putting people back to work, giving them purpose, emphasizing the beauty of helping others, reuniting families, and so on. Read more>>
