We had the good fortune of connecting with Edren and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Edren, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The Lofi music community is incredibly supportive and uplifting. It’s like being part of a tight-knit family where everyone’s rooting for each other’s success. It’s heartwarming how kind and helpful people are, always ready to lend a hand or share knowledge. It’s a side of the industry that often goes unnoticed but truly makes all the difference.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey in music has been a labor of love, driven by a passion that’s been with me since childhood. As a self-taught music theory enthusiast, I’ve embraced a unique approach to my artistry. What sets me apart is that I rely solely on my understanding of music theory rather than using reference tracks. It’s a deeply personal process where I channel emotions and craft melodies that resonate with the soul.

What excites me most is the opportunity to create lofi music that serves a purpose beyond mere entertainment. I’m driven by the desire to help people relax, ease anxiety, and enhance creativity through the power of music. There’s a profound connection in the emotions I seek to convey, and I believe it’s something that can bring us all closer together.

Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. It’s been a journey of perseverance, grinding on social media, making connections within the lofi community, and immersing myself in constant learning. Overcoming challenges meant confronting self-doubt and taking risks, even when anxiety threatened to hold me back. I’ve had to let go of distractions and embrace the discomfort of asking for help, knowing that it only makes me stronger.

Through it all, I’ve learned invaluable lessons about resilience, dedication, and the power of pursuing one’s passion. My story is a testament to the transformative potential of believing in oneself and daring to chase dreams, no matter how daunting they may seem. I want the world to know that my music isn’t just about melodies and beats—it’s about fostering connection, healing, and the profound beauty of the human experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So, ever since I tied the knot and became a dad in 2022, life’s taken on a whole new meaning. This itinerary? It’s a mix of family love and the things that light up my creative side. Just trying to make every moment count!

Day 1 – DMA Start
We’ll hit up the Dallas Museum of Art to kick things off.

Day 2 – Deep Ellum Fun
Exploring Deep Ellum for its cool vibes, shops, and Seriou Pizza.

Day 3 – Cidercade & Outdoors
Cidercade for some arcade fun, then a hike or chill time at the Arboretum.

Day 4 – Fort Worth Zoo & More Pizza
Road trip to Fort Worth for the zoo, then back to Serious Pizza for round two.

Day 5 – Foodie Adventures
Trying out different spots like Fuel City and Gloria’s for some good eats.

Day 6 – Game Day
Heading to a game to root for our teams. It doesn’t matter who is playing, I love to catch a game.

Day 7 – Family Time
Chilling out with the fam, maybe a lazy brunch or park hangout.

That’s the plan—simple, fun, and packed with good times!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely! My wife is my rock, my partner in creativity, and my biggest supporter. She’s there every step of the way, from co-writing to helping with artwork and merchandising, and her patience and unwavering belief in me never fail to keep me going.

As for the lofi community, I’ve been blessed to come across so many incredible individuals who have played pivotal roles in my journey. It’s difficult to single out just a few, but some fellow producers and musicians deserve a special shoutout for their constant inspiration and camaraderie. Lost Tribe, Jutte, Houndwaves, and Evo Raven are just a few among the many who have lifted me up, shared invaluable advice, and cheered me on through every high and low. Their contributions to the scene and their willingness to support and uplift others truly embody the spirit of our community.
