Meet Jack McRoberts | Technical Producer and LED Expert

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jack McRoberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jack, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Since I was young, I have always bought, sold, and traded goods and services. If you had told me four years ago that I would be running my own business today, I would have said that was crazy. In college, starting my own company, let alone entrepreneurship was never a thought of mind. After college, I had plans to work in corporate America in public relations and marketing. It was only after my three-month internship experience in Houston, Texas, at a large Fortune 500 company that I decided to take the route of becoming my own boss and starting up my own company.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, Copano Media Group, specializes in Audio Video production services. Over the years, my company has worked on creating video production content for small and medium-sized businesses and fortune 500 large businesses. While I enjoy this type of work, I have decided to shift my company’s focus to LED Video Wall sales, services, installation, and repair. As the video production market gets saturated with inexpensive equipment and labor, I see that specializing in a specific field will ensure large scale growth and success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting from out of town, I would suggest grabbing lunch or dinner at Mia’s, Javiers, and or Doce Mesas. For entertainment, they could visit a Cowboys or Rangers game, visit the Perot Museum, or check out North Park Mall.

The Dallas Producers Association has been beneficial for supporting my success. I have met many clients and partners to work with on growing my business through that organization.
