We had the good fortune of connecting with Mariquita Solis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mariquita, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
My happiness is dependent on whether or not I am living in alignment with my virtues and my core beliefs. Giving thanks for the gift of life every morning is the way I start my day. From there, I look to Mother Nature and thank the trees waving at me in the wind, the flowers standing in their gracefulness, the air filling my body with life. I know I am one with the Universe and I am blessed. This sends happiness to every cell in my body. My connection to the Earth is relevant to my happiness. If I am overwhelmed and don’t make time for Mother Nature, I pay the price. Stress, frustration and a sense of aloneness set in. It is a sign that I have stepped away from what is most important in my life, being a steward of Mother Earth.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Vegan Empowerment Coach, a Feminine Empowerment Coach and a Harmonic Earth Healer. These all are tied to Mother Earth. My road was filled with setbacks, tears, frustration, but also, joy, excitement, hope and resilience. I began my coaching career as a Joyful Relationship Coach. I had a powerful female coach, Stephanie Treasure, who encouraged me to get visible and stand tall. I was afraid to be on video, but through her allegiance, I was able to. I learned to focus on progress over perfection. I allowed myself to make mistake and embrace my humanity. Today, I have a safe, grounded support system of friends and I also, am my own best friend in my journey. As I work with my clients, Mother Earth is tied into all my teachings. I embrace the strength and gracefulness of the feminine. I ask Nature for her healing power. I work with my clients to tap into the place of power within themselves. This place is connected to all of the Universe. The Universe and I are one and we work to heal and empower others. Each person I work with is unique and I tailor my programs individually for them.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting I would take them to my church Unity North. Unity North is non-denominational and a safe haven for peace. I would invite them to walk the labyrinth with me, to visit our organic garden, to walk the trails behind the church, and to sit in the quiet of the peace chapel. I would take them to Red Top Mountain to have an experience with our Georgia trees and areas of water. I think a picnic would be in order, so we might grill out vegetables and sit by the lake watching the waves of water. I would love to take them to visit my animal friends at a wildlife rehab where I volunteer. Most of my friends are animal and nature lovers, so this would be something they would embrace. Mainly, I would plan to spend the time with my friend in nature, the quietness of life. I think the main thing would be having sacred time to share stories and the joys of life.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dr. Claire Zammit has played a tremendous role in my life. Her coaching program taught me to step out of my limiting beliefs about the feminine and into strength, resilience and embrace my femininity.
