We had the good fortune of connecting with Anirudh Mazumder and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anirudh, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I co-founded KidneyChain LLC with the singular mission of preventing over 28,000 organs from being wasted due to the ineffective and inefficient donor-to-patient matching process. With the shortage of available kidney organs for transplants, handling each donor’s kidney with utmost care is crucial to preserve its health during transportation. Our platform utilizes blockchain technology to track the organ’s location and handling meticulously, ensuring its safe journey from donor to recipient. Additionally, we monitor organ health in real time, enabling prompt detection of any potential kidney damage. Our ongoing efforts include developing a matching algorithm to pair donor kidneys with compatible individuals in need, further optimizing the transplantation process.
KidneyChain LLC’s focus on developing a blockchain-based platform for kidney transplantation and transportation is a promising solution to the challenges faced by the current organ donation process. Using blockchain technology to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of donor kidneys is a significant step towards reducing the number of wasted organs. Furthermore, we are developing a matching algorithm to pair donor kidneys with compatible individuals in need, which can potentially increase kidney transplants’ success rate, ultimately saving more lives.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am deeply inspired by the prospect of using my creativity to develop solutions that can save lives and have a significant impact on society.
The field of computer science is constantly evolving, and there is a growing need for creative problem solvers who can think outside the box and develop novel solutions to pressing issues. Whether designing new software applications, developing cutting-edge algorithms, or leveraging data analytics to drive insights and decision-making, there are countless opportunities to apply creativity and ingenuity to real-world problems. By pursuing a career in computer science, I am eager to channel my passion for creativity and problem-solving into meaningful work that can transform lives and communities.
As a high school student juggling a demanding course load, extracurricular activities like research, and responsibilities at KidneyChain, finding a balance can be challenging. However, I have discovered that efficient time management is the key to navigating these commitments successfully. By carefully planning my activities and constantly prioritizing, I can focus on the tasks that require the most attention and deliver the highest value.
Over the past few years, I have made significant improvements in managing my time effectively. This skill has allowed me to meet the demands of my current responsibilities while also preparing for college and expanding the scope of KidneyChain’s solutions. However, I recognize that time management is an ongoing process, and I will continue to refine and hone my skills as I progress in my academic and professional journey.
My ultimate goal is to become a computer scientist, researching the efficacy of creative computer and AI applications that can save lives from illnesses like kidney diseases by aiding in diagnosis, predicting treatments, and facilitating the precise delivery of medication.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Since I was ten years old, I have eagerly anticipated the two weeks of summer when I would visit my grandparents and engage in projects that benefited their local community. This family tradition of helping others has become integral to my identity. For instance, during the summer before eighth grade, I dedicated two weeks to renovating a cultural center and teaching math and science to children in the community every evening. Witnessing the gratitude on the faces of community members made all my efforts worthwhile.
Unfortunately, the pandemic disrupted this cherished ritual for a couple of years. However, I channeled my energy into finding new ways to support the communities I belong to during the summer. I mentored middle school students in math and debate, initiated a program called “Rise and Serve” to engage local youth in volunteering, and collaborated with the Euless Public Library to involve local teenagers in community activities.
I consider myself fortunate to have been instilled with the value of helping others from an early age, thanks to the guidance of my elders. I have realized that true happiness stems from these selfless acts of kindness. This inheritance drove my founding of KidneyChain, a venture aimed at saving lives, and my involvement in other activities that empower human potential.
