We had the good fortune of connecting with Jo Rohal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jo, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
For me success comes from positivity, if I focus on the positive aspects of my work and life, I feel motivated and I keep pushing myself to achieving goals. Negative energy pulls me down, and I feel derailed from my goals.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I like to think out of the box and come up with new designs and incorporate bold colors, which sets me apart from others. Apart from my unique furniture designs, I get noticed for my staging skills which I am very proud of and always excited to share my new pieces using some unique staging. Success doesn’t come easy, it is a lot of hardwork, patience, faith, understanding of art, and building relationships. For me it was no different or easy. I have always believed in myself and stayed positive, no matter what may come. I have believed that God has chosen me for this art. And this belief has helped me in overcoming all my challenges and staying focused. I have learned many things along the way, I call them experiences. The most important being that every art is beautiful , and every artist is unique . There is no competitive art or no two same artists. So keep creating without looking around.

I am an artist by profession now, and a law graduate by degree. I started painting furniture few years back, when I realized that I have lost all my belongings in the interstate move. I turned my loss into a story of success. I changed my destiny and here I am today. And with this goal in mind, I strive to change the story of every furniture that comes to my studio.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to host. And if it is my bestie visiting to my area, I would make it a memorable experience for her. I would take her to some famous steakhouse, a local brewery, give her a taste of cowboys music, definitely rodeo, take her to local mercantiles and stores.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a few people to thank in my life, without whom I wouldn’t have achieved this “little” success of mine. Needless to say God first. Then my husband and my two boys for managing day to day chores without me, which is so important when you have little ones and for always showing love and acceptance for my work. Secondly, the companies that I work along as Brand Ambassador for providing me the best products to show my artistic skills. And thirdly my followers for their immense love and encouragement to do what I love the most.
