We had the good fortune of connecting with Jazzmin Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jazzmin, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is where I feel like I thrive the most. I have always been a person to leap at the opportunity to take a risk that I foresee will work out for my good. Though there are times that I am fearful of the unknown, one thing I know is that I can lean on my faith in the Lord. He will see me through all things and cover me under His protection. I have full confidence in His Word that never fails. At the beginning of this year, I took a big risk by moving out of my comfort zone. I left my hometown, family, and friends & moved out for the first time to a completely different state I knew nothing about. I took a leap of faith to move here to the DFW area in Texas. I was born and raised in New York and never lived anywhere else until this year. It has been a complete life changing experience in all aspects. This risk that I took has grown me mentally & emotionally. My mindset has been renewed. All aiding me into being a great CEO of my business Blu3 Model Coaching LLC.

What should our readers know about your business?

My journey in being a business owner started with pursuing my passions in being a model. Back in 2016, I started modeling at a time when there was a lack of information on how to become a plus size model. With the information I was able to gather, I went and got my portfolio started. A month into my journey I was signed into an agency. While in pursuit of a modeling career I decided to share my journey on Youtube, giving different tips and tricks on how to become a plus-sized model. About a year or so into my modeling career I was approached by my agent. He saw the potential in me to become a model coach based on the information I was putting out there. At the end of 2017, he asked me if I wanted to be the in-house modeling coach and I took him up on the offer. I began to create my curriculum and in 2018 I started coaching the models in the agency. As time went on, I realized that I was in the process of maturing mentally to become a business owner. Learning more about the industry and preparing for the season that I am in now. The journey was not easy, as there was a back and forth fight on whether I wanted to become a CEO or not. The fear of the unknown choked me. Mixed with the lack of knowledge of the back-end things that are essential in business stopped me from moving forward. After years of a fight I decided to walk into the calling God had for me and LLC’d my business on January 31st 2022. A year later I moved to Texas to grow my business and answer the call God has for me here.

The biggest lesson I learned along the way was to not fight the things that God is calling you to do. The constant poking or itching to do that very thing will never leave you. God created you for a purpose and that is to walk and do every assignment He already predestined for you. It took me years to finally walk into the calling He has over my life. I ignored the promptings and allowed fear, self doubt, & distractions to keep me away from my calling. With the help of my support team, I realized that God gave me a talent. I have a choice: I can use that talent or just let it fall to the waste side. I am so excited to continue to walk into everything that God has for me regarding the business He gave me. Believe it or not but this upcoming year, 2024 will be just the beginning of all that is in store for my company. My journey to get here today is only the beginning.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being a new resident to the DFW area I feel like I am still exploring the cities. But so far some of my favorite spots have to be my Church in Irving called Embassy City Church, LO-LO’s Chicken and Waffles in Grapevine, and Legacy Hall in Plano.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this to my family and friends back at home in New York. They all supported me and helped me get to where I am today. I also would like to recognize my new friends and support team out here in Texas. I am very thankful to have a big team of people who believe in me and want to see me thrive in the calling that God has for me.
