We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexa Gonzales and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexa, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of my newly created business is the act of doing everything with love, excitement and passion. I love what I do, I always have and when you do things with Love, everything always comes out so much better. Not only does it come out much better but it comes to you naturally. Although I’m still learning new things everyday, there’s so much that came to me so natural.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career has a little bit of everything! I’ve worked retail for 5+ years, studied Real Estate, and now working on a dream I never new existed, Photography!
Like I’ve mentioned, I’ve been incredibly blessed to have started with clients who were interested in my work but there were some setbacks. Obviously when you start you want to offer free sessions/ discounted sessions to gather up a portfolio as well as content. I made the mistake of not selecting my models wisely, I had a few take the free session who didn’t bother posting, sharing or even mentioning my name. Social Media is the main market right now it’s how your name gets around these days so that was my only requirement, It was pretty upsetting seeing that happen especially from people who were pretty close to me. I’ve learned that although it’d be easier if people would give you a shoutout, when it’s your time your work will speak for itself. I may not have much recognition but I am happy with the audience I have reached so far! I want the world to know that you can be living a dream you never knew existed, always appreciate what you have because at some point in your life you wished to be living in this moment! Your time will come, celebrate any milestone, because only YOU know what took you to get there!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A week long trip, I would definitely take you to the stockyards. It’s a very touristy area everyone loves it! So much to do including shopping, dinner and many outdoor activities as well as night activities! So many great places to get some good pictures taken there as well! I would also take you to downtown dallas for a nice fancy dinner dress up and take more pictures!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I love this question so much. I want to dedicate this shoutout to my amazing parents, my inspiring sister and brothers! Overall I want to dedicate this shoutout to my beautiful nieces and nephew, Arlett, Avery, Adelynn and Erik.
My nieces and nephews are the exact reason why I started to find a passion i. photography. I have never loved anyone so much like I love them. I couldn’t help but to snap some photos any chance I could they could be taking a quick nap in the car and there I was taking pictures! My sister and other family members then realized the quality of photos I was taking just with an Iphone as well as my editing, I always took it lightly. It wasn’t until one night a camera caught my attention I bought it that same night, no second thought. That same weekend I was already taking pictures, I opened an Instagram account (@luceritophotography) and received so much feedback! I’ve been very blessed to have started with so many clients and I always like to remind myself where I started and what my goal is because the process has been amazing and I know the future has bigger things in store for me!
