We had the good fortune of connecting with Miguel Cepeda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Miguel, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work life balance is something I struggle with the most, and to this day, I still don’t have it fully figured out. As a realtor, my goal is to always be there for my clients; no matter the day or time, because that is the type of service I would want if I was in their shoes. The hardest thing to understand is that we have to set boundaries in this business to leave time for ourselves and our family. It’s something I’m working on and I’m trying my best to take some time off from time to time and not feel guilty about it.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The most exciting part of my career thus far has been meeting such amazing people and helping them realize the American dream! Something that sets me apart from others is that I can relate to the struggles my community faces when purchasing a home. A lot of us don’t come from money, don’t have the knowledge on the importance of credit and how to keep it in good standing. We are not taught to save, nor do we know the first thing about buying a house and that itself is one of the biggest challenges we face. In my approach, I love to hold my clients hand through the process and make sure they fully understand and learn as much as they can through the process. My job is not easy and it comes with many challenges, just like any other job, but there’s no better feeling than overcoming these challenges with some of the most amazing families ever!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Dallas is such a fun city so the options are endless! Some of my top spots include visiting bishop arts for some day shopping, eating at one of the great restaurants Lower Greenville has to offer, and at the end catching a fun night out either at a mavericks game or a fun nightclub!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve had an amazing support system throughout my career, but none of this would’ve been possible without Ashley. The main reason why I got my license, the one that supports all my plans and ideas, and the one that puts herself second to make sure I can always be there for my clients and succeed. None of this is possible without her.
