We had the good fortune of connecting with Guru Ma and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Guru, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m Originally from Northampton, a quaint town in England, my upbringing was cobblestone streets and serene woods. As a child, I often perceived my hometown as unremarkable, even restrictive — a place where life seemed to pause after 10 pm, where everyone knew each other, and opportunities to explore beyond were limited.

As I matured, I came to appreciate the tranquility and community spirit. It provided a foundation of stillness, allowing my mind to flourish and my creativity to blossom. The peace and simplicity of my hometown became apart of my core values. It fostered a sense of community, continuity, and connection, which I now realize are invaluable.

Now, living in Dallas, TX, It influences my work, the way I engage in conversations, and how I approach relationships. The stillness and imagination nurtured in at home  had become integral to my artistic expression and personal philosophy, guiding me in my journey both as an artist and as an individual.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Defining myself as an artist isn’t confined to a single label — whether musician, songwriter, creative director, painter, or photographer. I am, in essence, a creator in the broadest sense. My artistry began with sculpting myself into the most authentic, loving, and masterful version possible. This philosophy of self-evolution underpins everything I do. I don’t strive to be good at everything; instead, I focus on being great at being me. My unique voice and expression make my work distinct, a canvas where others can see reflections of themselves.

My journey to this point has been shaped by the grace and guidance from God, also my ability to forge lasting connections. Trusting others and creating memorable moments have turned acquaintances into lifelong collaborators. The path hasn’t been easy; it has required a willingness to embrace discomfort, and to leap into the unknown. But it’s within these challenges that I find the thrill of living and the joy of creation.

The greatest lesson I’ve learned is the power of perception — to seek potential where there seems to be none, to find lessons in loss.

I want the world to know that we are boundless. Life isn’t predetermined at birth; it’s an artform in itself, designed to be experienced passionately. My message is simple: Look no further than the mirror for a divine encounter, and know deeply that you are loved.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a homebody at heart, but there’s there’s a few places to show a friend a great time. I’d start with a hike in Cedar Ridge – it’s a perfect blend of nature and work out. For dining, we’d explore some of my favorite spots: Uchiba because Uchi-bang bangs lol, Ka Thai and Waya ramen.

A night out would definitely include a visit to Family & Friends, the best party in the city in my opinion. The atmosphere there is just unparalleled. We’d also not miss a Dana Harper show; she’s my favorite vocalist around here and never fails to impress.

But honestly, what makes any visit special is the people. My friends are the real vibe of this city – I might be a bit biased – but it’s the quality time with them that truly counts. We’d spend our days just soaking in the good company, good music, and the unique energy of this place.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To the one that I owe all my praises, Gratitude and life. The most high God without you I have nothing, without you I don’t exist.
