We had the good fortune of connecting with Parth Bhatt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Parth, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
While I wouldn’t claim to have achieved success yet, as I believe I’m on a journey towards the ambitious goals I’ve set for myself, I can attribute my progress to a few key factors. First and foremost, it’s about how I choose to invest my time—prioritizing self-improvement and embracing unconventional paths rather than conforming to the norm not following what most of the teens my age do. My success is rooted in a combination of zeal, insatiable curiosity, unwavering dedication, and a strong work ethic. I’ve always pushed myself to do a little bit more each time, consistently extending my boundaries.

Perhaps one of the critical elements is the choices I’ve made. I recall an insightful conversation with a college kid during a conference I chaired. He expressed concerns about his resume and shared that he was waiting for his college to instruct him to apply for internships in his third year, as students usually do internships in third year. My response was simple yet impactful: “Why wait for your college to guide you? Why wait for someone else to push you to begin? Despite being in high school, I didn’t wait for my institute to encourage me to complete 545 UN Courses, engage in meetings with Presidents, or advocate for Sustainable Development Goals. I took the initiative.”

A pivotal aspect of my journey has been not relying on conventional, academically controlled pathways. Instead, I took charge and made extraordinary things happen, refusing to be limited by clichéd expectations. It’s this proactive approach, coupled with a relentless pursuit of self-improvement, that has played a crucial role in shaping my path so far.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My identity is that of a ‘young changemaker,’ deeply involved in diverse fields from sustainable development to diplomacy, and with a passion for issues ranging from climate action to international relations. I’ve undertaken initiatives at all levels, from grassroots projects to engagements with world leaders and UN senior leadership.

What sets me apart is my inclination to tread unexplored paths and pioneer initiatives rather than following established norms. My pragmatic approach, combined with a refusal to conform to trends for social media validation, distinguishes me from many peers.

As an army brat, I’ve experienced life in over 18 cities and attended more than 15 schools. This unique upbringing has instilled adaptability, resilience, and a proactive attitude in the face of challenges.

My journey began at the age of 12 when I ventured into Model United Nations (MUNs) and later founded Pacem International MUN at the age of 13, organized in support of the HeForShe Campaign of UN Women. Simultaneously, I received the AWWA Award of Excellence for contributions to science and technology and community upliftment.

Turning 14 marked a shift to diplomatic conferences, where my performance garnered appreciation from senior diplomats opening gates for more diplomatic rendezvous. I engaged with leaders worldwide, accumulating experiences and insights.

Academic pursuits led me to complete over 1000 courses from various prestigious institutions, earning accolades and appreciation letters. I’ve actively worked on climate action, organizing rallies, and proposing plans to civil administration officials.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, I seized opportunities to engage in international conferences, dialogues with world leaders, and sessions with multiple organizations. I used the lockdown period to contribute to UN Volunteers India’s V-Force initiative and worked on diverse topics in various forums.

Later, I founded ECB Sustainable Youth Foundation along with Aislinn, working for capacity-building to make communities more resilient to climate change in 4 continents. Subsequently, I also contributed to numerous projects by UNFCCC Youth Constituency, UNEP Children and Youth Major Group, UN International Federation of Youth on Water and Climate, etc.

Lessons learned include the importance of self-motivation, perseverance, and the ability to carve unique paths. Being an army brat, adaptability and resilience became second nature, allowing me to navigate diverse environments with ease.

What I want the world to know is that my journey is a testament to the power of unconventional choices, relentless pursuit of self-improvement, and the transformative potential of youth. I’m not defined by traditional norms but by the impact I strive to make. My brand encapsulates a commitment to sustainability, a passion for diplomacy, and an unwavering belief in the ability of individuals, especially youth, to drive positive change.

Very bluntly speaking, it wasn’t a smooth road at all! One of the biggest struggles along my way was being alone and lonely. While kids of my age are partying at clubs and binge watching Netflix, I’m having conferences with presidents and ambassadors. Due to this all, I’ve always felt left out of my own age group and I don’t have any friends, I spend most of my time alone and it affects my mental health greatly. But again, had I walked the common path, I wouldn’t be giving this interview to you here and telling my story to the world. Other big challenges I face are ageism and lack of opportunities.

However, these challenges haven’t deterred me. The pursuit of unconventional paths and the desire to make a positive impact globally continue to drive me. Each experience, whether engaging with world leaders or facing loneliness, contributes to my growth and resilience. Through it all, I remain committed to sustainable development, diplomatic engagements, and motivating youth for positive change.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Considering I am in Dallas, as a person who loves places which hold some historic value and adventure, I would take my friends to Arts District in Downtown and world class museums of Fort Worth nearby. Also, as I am highly interested in aviation and technology, I will definitely keep Lockheed Martin and Bell Helicopters in my list. Following this, we will visit ICR Discovery Centre for Science & Earth History, which was opened just a couple of years ago, The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, and Dallas Holocaust & Human Rights Museum. After spending days at these amazing places fostering my zeal and interests, I will plan to take my friend to Highland Park Village, Dallas galleria and NorthPark centre to spend the evenings enjoying the ambience of these happening places enjoying famous Dallas barbecue and Tex-Mex cuisine. The trip will come to an end at Dallas zoo and Dallas World Aquarium while learning about critically endangered species of flora and fauna.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In the spirit of recognizing the collaborative efforts that have shaped my journey, I extend my heartfelt dedication to the cause of Sustainable Development. It serves as the guiding force behind all my endeavors, reflecting my unwavering commitment to making the world a better place to live in for all, including the flora and fauna we share this planet with.

A profound acknowledgment goes out to the incredible community of supporters and followers, especially youth, spanning the globe. Their encouragement has been a driving force, underscoring the universal nature of the challenges we collectively address.

As an army brat, the community I am part of stands out as an epitome of excellence. It has been an instrumental and defining aspect in my growth. providing diverse perspectives and unique opportunities. The unique blend of military life and exposure to the diplomatic arena has provided me with invaluable diverse perspectives and unique opportunities.

A special shoutout is reserved for my paternal aunt, “24X7” as I affectionately call her, who has gone above and beyond to support me, even from other corner of the globe continents apart. Despite her demanding role at Pfizer, especially during the pandemic, she made a concerted effort trying to be there for me.

Acknowledging the influencers on my journey, I express gratitude to Mr. Gurkirat Behl, my school senior at Army Public School Jodhpur, for introducing me to Model United Nations (MUNs). Ms. Barkha Bhandari, my first MUN Chairperson, and Mr. Shivansh Ahuja, for expanding my ventures in MUNs, and Mr. Siddharth Rajhans, who dynamically guides me through nuances of diplomacy and sustainable development.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Aislinn, who inspires me with her resilience and ability to bounce back and stand up yet once again against all the odds regardless of what life throws, while also actively trying to pull me out of my seriousness dominated cocoon, ensuring I also savor life’s moments. Even during my special yet lonely days, she tries her best to bring liveliness and warmth, making every effort she can with all the affection she could give.

Kaira, a remarkable individual, has consistently defied my expectations of support. Every time I thought, “Alright! This is the most someone could do for another person”, Kaira surpassed those limits. I remember this once, I was going through a low phase and I told her that she isn’t obliged to be there for me, she replied by saying that she’s being there for me not because she’s obliged to, but because she wholeheartedly wants to, and that “always there” is something that I deserve in all my relations.

In addition, I recognize Lipakshi, Pearl, Aditi, Saniya, Gunreet, Rashi, Aarushi, Jayant, Raj, Hrithik, Ninaad, Kritika, my third cousin, and a select few acquaintances who have been instrumental in my growth. Their support and camaraderie are invaluable.

A noteworthy mention goes to H.E. Mr. Yoo Chang ho, Minister-Counsellor in the South Korean Embassy in Beijing. He is the first diplomat I engaged with in my maiden diplomatic dialogue back in grade 9, an interaction that served as a catalyst for my deeper involvement in this niche.

In essence, these shoutouts represent a tapestry of gratitude to the diverse and influential entities that have played a vital role in shaping my journey towards positive change and sustainable impact.
