Meet Eteng Ibor | Comedian and model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Eteng Ibor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eteng, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
Am from west Africa,Nigeria to be precise . Well my upbringing has really helped me to know that life is all about love, when you give love you get love as a gain. Also it’s gives me the awareness of respecting both young and old as that is a way of life.

Background shaped the person I am today…., like I said earlier my upbringing really opened my eyes to a lot things am experiencing today making it easy for me to adapt, in terms of my talent and gifts my parents encouraged me and also help build me in that direction, and that’s because I was able to discover my interest on time. I actually started playing drums from church from a very tender age of 7 then moved to playing the piano, then moved to acting in church also discovering my interest in comedy making people happy that all came to play because my parents encouraged me and gave me a good upbringing.

In addition to what I said above my parents made me understand that the type of friends you keep can make you or destroy you. So I was made to choose good life from the beginning and that stocked with me till date.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
By the grace of God am a creative and talented artist eg, comedian , instrumentalist, actor , model etc. I started as a child playing drums in church then moved to piano or keyboard still in church, but later started standup comedy and that’s where the passion is all my life I love it . It’s not been an easy ride but we are here now making people happy. I have faced many set back when I started my own show but I never quit because quitters never win, MR OVASABI entertainment is my talk show on IG and YouTube, people ask questions and I bring in guest to answer and also make it funny .finally I want to world to keep an eye on my brand because am just starting and the sky is just beginning to open no limitations can stop me .

What I can share with the community well, as a gifted comedian and an instrumentalist I usually organize shows to help all those who have the interest of becoming entertainers in different but don’t have the platform to showcase, I support my community in any little way I can all that matters is the mindset you have while doing the little you can. I don’t see little beginnings as discouragement rather I see it as an embodiment of staying truthful to your self , respecting the inner gift and also willing to use it to better your community at large. As regards my career I still try to train people who have love for entertainment to never give up rather keep challenging yourself with upgrades in your skills. As consistency is the key to the world now .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Claypot is where I will take them to for good African food then move them later to aso rock for some cool music .

Is if my friend visits and decides to stay a week long , I will make him love dFW by taking him from one good location to another just for him or her to enjoy the delicacy, I will also like him or her to see DEEP ELLUM just to see the fun part of dallas.then we will retire at a lounge just cool the nerves down and that maybe done true.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My entertainment journey started from my childhood and my sister is the originator of the courage I have today so shoutout to my lovely sister LIMAN ETIM for being my world and success story.
