We had the good fortune of connecting with Tierra Dionna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tierra, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Time and boredom lol! that’s right its amazing what can happen when you mix time with a little boredom. For the first time like many others during the pandemic time stood still. Time is a treasure and being one of the most valuable resources that we often not have enough of, I happen to have more of it and took advantage of it. I wanted to still be productive. I begin to ask what can I do with this time. Yarn came to me. I begin to look on Pinterest to see what I could do with yarn. II placed an order at my local craft store and picked it up curbside. I started a crafted activity that I had no idea would turn into a business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am the owner of TDKnit Earrings, where I handmake jaw dropping yarn knit earrings from a range of colors and sizes!

I am 1/3rd owner of a property management company IntrinsicLiving.co
Where we serve purposeful stays to provide a sense of belonging and deep comfort away from home

I work for my local public school system, serving as a Highschool Teacher

You know what excites me? Is knowing that I don’t have to limit myself to my marketing degree, I am a creative being with gifts, talents, and skillset that allots me to show up in the world where the possibilities are limitless.

I grew up in dysfunction and trauma, Not having creates curiosity and resourcefulness. I learn how to be grateful and content. I learn how to improvise and make nothing out of something, I learn how to be proud of myself even when no one hails you with praise.

Being an Educator I wanted to be what I needed growing up. I teach Early what I learned Late. What sets me apart in the classroom is my desire to see students encouraged, praised, feel heard and seen. When we address the social emotional components then I feel more comfortable teaching a lesson. I am a story teller, I share lessons with stories or relevant topics that will seek their interest. I give my students a voice to speak and share freely. My class is more like a family and that makes learning more fun and enjoyable.

I want the world to know that it can start with a spool of yarn from your local craft store, while still working a 9-5, that it is ok if you don’t have everything but all you do have, is all you need.
I want the world to know that nothing is easy, but it is possible. I want the world to believe in the power of Yet.
I don’t know it Yet, I haven’t accomplished it Yet, I didn’t master it Yet, I’m not Rich Yet lol! but with consistency, hard work, and faith there is nothing you cant do.

My brand isn’t just about Products and Services its the Why behind it. I want to show the next aspiring Dreamer, Artist, Creator, Visionary that their ideas and gifts are not in vain and when they sow, support do business with TDKnit Earrings or anything Tierra Dionna, they are partnering with a fellow visionary that believed and they are just seeing the manifestation of it.
