Meet Sierra Vital | Women’s Boutique Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sierra Vital and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sierra, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Balanced is now 3 years old, and if we do the math my business started in 2020 during the world pandemic . What some people viewed as a time to pause, a time to be afraid, a time to travel, and a time to relax . God gave me a message , matter fact was answering my prayer . After time after time of me expressing to God , that I already have my degree and certificates, I already worked retail, I already did this and that , and now, I was asking him to help me start a business, but I was scared because the world as a whole was entering a new season , and you know what God told me . He told me to “Do it Afraid .” And after repeating it so many times in my head joy filled my heart and that was my answer ! Fashion has always been my passion, since the age of 6 ! I even started dressing my mom ya’ll ! And I still do, over FaceTime ! I knew I was natural leader , so I knew I had the capability of being my own boss, so I dived in . Making sure every little detail has a story and more importantly that God was involved in it all . I started creating brain storm maps, color palettes, my mission and vision statement, and lastly figuring how am I gonna get inventory ! But I knew that if I just push myself I could find the resources and that’s what I did . I started to research and next thing you know I was standing in front of a 15 story building well only buyers are allowed into and guess what ? I had the authority to step in , so I became a buyer and officially a business owner . So I named my brand BALANCED. Why ? Because it is a brand that brings you Grace and Attitude. Grace because God is my everything , and I believe covering skin is beautiful too so we have graceful and elegant clothing and than Attitude. Baby I’m from Southern California, so the city of Los Angeles and its authenticity is where you’ll find your streetwear pieces ! Now that’s a balance !

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Balanced apart from others is that you see the balance in my store. You say your graceful pieces and you see your graceful pieces. And to be honest , we focus on building relationships and giving you a great shopping experience. What im most proud of about my brand is that I did it . God gave me a message and I obeyed and im living an answered prayer . Some lessons that I learned that I would want to share is one , asking for help doesn’t make you weak . And two there are resources to get you where you need to start . What I want the world to know about my brand is this , We are committed to making you feel good in our pieces , that we are committed to catering to all body types and diversity.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well everything is big in Texas , and so much to do so let’s begin ! She flys in Monday morning and we are having breakfast at yolks !! Because their food is just amazing !! After that we’ll walk the food off and look at all the boutiques near by and then head to my house for rest. We wake up and it’s time to see a baseball game ! The Frisco rough rider baseball stadium has a pool inside and guess what that’s an experience that she needs to experience !
Tuesday morning and we start the morning on a hike with a beautiful scenery, go home to refresh and eat and we make our way to downtown Dallas for her to see the discovery district . Then of course went into the food hall and walked out with ice cream and continued walking around. Also had to take her to artpark so she can walk the Dallas bridge . Then we finished the night with dinner and drinks in west village .
Wednesday morning and we made our way to black swan yoga , something everyone needs to try . From there bestie wanted to see the Dallas aquarium so we did it ! After that we went home refreshed and spent the rest of the night in legacy hall .
Thursday and we go straight to whataburger ! Had to introduce her to the hype . From there I want to scare her , so I’m taking an hour drive to glenrose to show her “Fossil Rim” a drive through safari where you feed wild animals from your vehicle and trust and believe I’m recording everything !
It’s Friday ! And we’re having brunch at dahlias ! So good ! From there I show her the hype and we walk deep ellum and get some content and drinks before the night ! Than we make our way to Fort Worth and i give her a glimpse of cowboy city known as the stockyards and we drink a beer and end the night at coyote drive in and watch a movie at the drive ins with matching pajamas !!!!!
Saturday we wake up and start our day and we meet our friends later throughout the day at Virgin hotels to go swimming and cocktails , shortly after we refresh and have dinner together at bishop arts and than commit to 2 hours of fun in uptown to enjoy the night life !
Sunday is the last day and I have to introduce my friend to my Dallas church ! So I take her to Social Dallas ! With Pastor Robert and Taylor Madu ! After hearing a transformational message , we go to whataburger again and than spare some time before heading to the airport and we go to the Dallas art museum to complete her trip !!!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Jesus will always be the first that I give thanks too ! But I also would like to give a huge shout out to not only my brand ambassador and assistant but my baby sister Chauny and older sister Cherise . Chauny is the face of my brand, and she already has a busy life with modeling, but she prioritizes me and I’m grateful. She also is almost at every vendor market with me as well. She’s truly a blessing ! And then Cherise ! She helps me finalize my pieces because if it wasn’t for her I’d probably buy both . So I’m grateful for her discipline. Lol
