We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Coldiron and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what do you attribute your success to?
A lot of my success is based on two things, being extremely dedicated and passionate about what I do, and hard work.
Since I could remember, I’ve had
I was well aware of the value of hard work when I was growing up. I began working for a trainer at a young age because my parents didn’t have the financial means but I was determined to keep riding. Working with horses installed a lot of discipline as well as dedication.
Starting this business hasn’t been easy at all. A lot of hard work and dedication has gone into it.
My experience working with performance horses under trainers and well as veterinarians showed me the benefits of equine massage therapy. Top performance horses are treated like olympic athletes and it is well deserved. They work extremely hard
What should our readers know about your business?
I knew I wanted to make a future for myself which was revolved around taking care of horses. Being a competitive rider myself I know the impact massage therapy can have on horses. I therefore sought out an education to become an equine massage therapist and start my own business centered around helping top horses perform to the best of their ability. I knew the path to starting my own business would be filled with trials and tribulations. However, I went into this journey with the mentality of ‘failure is not an option’. I feel what sets me apart is how I tailor each session for each horse, and I prioritize focusing on what both the horses and owners communicate to me. I love talking to my clients about what they feel during rides before and after I work on their horses. As well as answering any of their questions with regards to their horse. At twenty – three years old I am very blessed to be able to have accomplished what I have, and give back to the horses who have given me so much.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite spots to take friends is the Fort Worth Stockyards. In the afternoons, they have a cattle drive that is always fun to watch. The night life is fantastic as well. There are several bars to hang out at that have great music and dancing.
Every time a horse show is held, I love to visit the Will Rogers Memorial Center. These are always a blast, and usually there are some fantastic vendors, so you can shop while watching some amazing performance horses.
Lowbrows Saloon in Pilot Point is a must as well. The best people work there and it is always a fun time. Karaoke night is every Wednesday and it never disappoints. On some nights, there is also live music, which is always a blast.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people that I would love to shout-out because of their continued love and support. But I want to shout-out those who cannot speak for themselves – the horses. I have been very fortunate to ride and learn form so many horses who have taught me valuable life lessons. They have humbled me, taught me about myself, and showed who I can be become, without ever saying a word. Without them I would not be where I am today. I am forever grateful for the horses who have allowed me to ride, and massage them. Because they have not only changed my lifes, but they have also saved it in so many regards.
