Meet Saanvi Mylavarapu | Student and Outdoors Advocate

We had the good fortune of connecting with Saanvi Mylavarapu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Saanvi, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite affirmation is, as youth, we don’t have to save the planet, we just have to stop spoiling it! This keeps me motivated about my organization, Nature Worthy’s mission, and the work we are doing. The purpose of Nature Worthy is to encourage individuals to explore, seek, learn, and enjoy every aspect of our planet, with a particular focus on spending time with nature. The Organization recognizes the value of nature for the well-being of both the Earth and humanity. Nature Worthy aims to inspire and empower people to connect with nature, promote environmental stewardship, and find ways to help the planet that align with their lifestyle choices. Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The Earth’s lifespan is almost 7 billion years, while a human’s average lifespan is 72.75 years. So in our life, why not explore, seek, learn and enjoy every aspect of our planet. There is so much unknown and exploring nature and keeping in touch with nature is what is not only good for the human body but for the Earth as well. Nature Worthy aims to encourage people to go outside and spend time with nature because we believe this is the key for the wellbeing of our planet, and ourselves. Nature worthy helps people find different ways to help the planet that fits with their lifestyle. I am the most proud of Nature Worthy encouraging more than 200 people to spend time outdoors! We are committed to helping people spend time outdoors, and the biggest challenge is changing people’s mindsets, however, we found that the more a person just starts spending time outdoors, the quicker and faster they will enjoy it!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Frisco/Plano, I would take them to Ray Roberts State Park, and pack camping and hiking gear. I would first start off at Ray Roberts, and then road trip around the area staying at different State Parks and National Parks! For food, I would take them to Vrindavan or Sarvana Bhavan – which are two vegetarian restaurants, which means they are tasty and better for the climate!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My father is the one who first motivated me to advocate for the outdoors, and is constantly helping me out, and pushing me to do my best. Without him, I would not be in the position I am with my organization today, and we would not have done the extent of work we have accomplished in a short period of time.
