We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgan Murphey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I work in sales full time, and have always had a core need to satisfy my creative side. I have always loved photography, and have been drawn to it my whole life. A few years ago I got my first camera, and started taking photos for family and friends for free. My business has grown organically from there, and I have had the chance to meet so many amazing couples and families since! It is insanely rewarding to see where I’ve come since becoming a business owner in October of 2022!

Having a full time job on top of my photography business does not come without its own set of challenges. Throughout the day I am grinding to make sure I am giving my all to my sales job. In the evenings and on weekends, I am diving into my creative side and hustling to grow my photography business. I can honestly say, I am never bored! I truly love what I do and I think that is the only way someone can balance both without burnout.

At Morgan Murphey Photography, my goal as a lifestyle photographer is to capture every precious memory in the most natural and organic way. I want all of my clients to feel like themselves in front of the camera, which starts with them feeling connected to me. By fostering a fun, lighthearted, environment – it encourages people to let their guard down allowing me to capture perfectly candid moments!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in North Ft. Worth so if my gals are coming in from out of town I will be sending them straight to Joe T. Garcia’s for fajitas and margs! After that we will swing by Second Rodeo for some live music on the patio. If there is a concert you will catch us at Billy Bob’s dancing the night away. Last but not least, we will definitely be heading to Hotel Drover for our mini staycation!

If you’re not a stockyards person, I would recommend heading to Dallas. They have a lot of trendy restaurants (I personally love Drake’s and Hudson House) and some fun rooftop bars (espresso martini’s at Catbird are 10/10). There is also amazing shopping in Highland Park and at Legacy West.

You can’t go wrong with either!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Husband, Tim is 1000% my biggest fan! He has always supported my photography career and has encouraged me to go all in. When my passion for photography grew from a hobby to a time consuming business he had my back. He helps keep me sane, and is an all-star when it comes to getting BTS content for me.

I would also like to shout out to all of my fellow photographers that have helped show me the ropes. From shadowing weddings, to mentor sessions, and encouraging advice. It is intimidating to put your work out there when it can be so easy to compare yourself to others. With a strong community it makes everything more fun in every aspect!

Community over competition, always!
