We had the good fortune of connecting with Traci McWain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Traci, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for Magic To Make grew from a discussion my sister Cynthia and I had during the early weeks of the pendemic. The lockdown was in place for most of the country, we could see and feel how worried and scared people were about what was happening and this overwelming feeling of dispair and hopelessness seemed to be everywhere. We really wanted to do something that could give some relief and bring calmness back to our community. Our first idea was the Self-Love Spiritual Bath Ritual, this was an easy and welcoming way for people to destress, to find that moment to let go of the worry and negativity and let in goodness and positivity. We put together a couple dozen ritual kits together and gave them out to friends, family, our neighbors and many first responders and essential workers in our Little Elm, Texas neighborhood.

Everyday that we would make our ingredients and put the Self-Love Bath kits together, we would say, it’s time to make to magic! And we did this from about May until Oct of 2020 thats when we decided to create a business dedicated to inspiring others to reach their full potentional through self-love and self-empowerment products and there you have it, Magic To Make was born.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Magic To Make is a metaphysical shoppe specifically curated for anyone curious about spiritual mindfulness, intention setting and personal growth. Our most popular item and one we are most proud to offer is the monthly Self-Care Box packed with power crystals, gem jewelry, relaxing & calming aromatherapy, tailmans, spiritual Items, cleansing tools and detailed infomation and monthly affirmation cards are included in every box.

Our mantra is, ” The Power Of Thought, The Power Of Will, The Power Of You.” I understand that the term Metaphysical can be a little intimidating that is one of the main reasons I focus on creating products that simplify and demystify the concept of spiritual development through the practice of self-love and self-empowerment. More than seventy five percent of the products I create or bring in, or partner with are from local artisans all with one thing in common; to help teach, modivate and inspire you take action. The true magic is within you and you still have to do the real work and take the steps to transform your life.

There have been many lessons throughout my professional life and career. You know, many years ago as I was first setting out on my own journey of spiritual mindfulness, a very wise teacher told me not to worry, not to battle with myself when I came up against difficulty but to embrace it. He said an obstacle is an opportunity for growth. That statement stuck with me and has since developed into an understanding and somewhat of a philosophy of mine. It keeps me optimistic, positive and confident to hold on to my truth, keep moving forward no matter the obstacle.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of the prettiest places to visit is the Dallas Rock Quarry. It is just magical, a limestone quarry with turquoise water. Perfect spot to relax from the day and take in all the beauty.

There are so many yummy restaurants to try, I think if I were entertaining someone from out of town, I would start with Legacy Hall in Plano. There are about twenty or so restaurants representing several different types of cuisine. I like to go around and get a little of everything!

I love a good farmers market, the Frisco Fresh Market is a great place to hang out for the afternoon, good eats, always some live entertainment and awesome shopping from local artisans.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My sister Cynthia McWain absolutely deserves so much credit to my sucess with Magic To Make. She and I started this business together and has since decided to remove herself from the business side of Magic to Make but continues to be my greatest supporter and cheerleader in my success. She has a tremendous amount of knowledge in the metaphysical industry and I consult with her on a regular basis.
