We had the good fortune of connecting with Aqua Umoren and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aqua, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is the entire concept of entrepreneurship. Most do not take the leap in light of the fact they are scared of what might be at risk. Most people are risk adverse. Risk has played a big factor in my career/life due to not being afraid of failure. That’s how you learn and improve. We are taught to mitigate risk in school however this conceptually is inverse to what makes a person successful.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Well I am in healthcare. I own a Hospice Agency, Homecare, and Assisted Living. We are set apart by how we provide care to our clients. We are hands on and treat others how we would expect to be treated given the situation.. I arrived at where I am by making a lot of mistakes and being a superior observer of others and how they succeeded. It was easy but not hard more anxiety. The biggest lessons are, if you set a goal press until you achieve it. Never let someone tell you “you can’t” do something. Most people who are successful are not smarter than you, they just did not fear failure. Surround yourself with people who have a like mind and will work with out becoming jealous of your success. I’d want the world to know that you are in control of your future. Do not put your hopes and dreams into someone else. Never allow someone to put the hustle on you. Work hard and the rest will come into place. My brand is superior care from people who care
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shot out to my mother! She always told me not to be afraid of achieving your goals no matter the risk. My mentor Ms Anthony, sign language professor at Xavier University of Louisiana. Pushed me to step outside of my comfort zone.
