Meet Pandora Essien | Realtor & Fitness enthusiast

We had the good fortune of connecting with Pandora Essien and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pandora, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
One of my favorite quote is
“It doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from. The ability to triumph begins with you.” – Oprah Winfrey
To me, It means whatever you imagine you want to be, no matter who or where you come from, your dreams are within reach.
I like this quote because it reminds me who I am, how far I have come and where I am going because I know everything always begins with me.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a real estate agent and I love my line of business, I have always had the idea of investing since I was younger when I bought my first property in Nigeria at the age of 21. I understand the value of money/investing and what it means to be entrusted with such a responsibility.
This brings me to one of the steps I check at my initial consultation with clients, I put their needs first, then guide them through the process of either buying, selling, or providing free apartment locating and residential lease services to them.
Business wise, I am opportune to work with great brokerage Keller Willams, coaches who have constantly taught and still teaching me a lot in this industry, in my business, and mindset, that way, I am always ready and equipped to not only guide clients but raise awareness on how accessible homeownership can be to many people.
There have been misconceptions, especially in my community, that one needs to have the “perfect credit score”, lots of money in the bank for down payment and closing cost, or no debt to be able to purchase a home which is not entirely true. I intend to continue educating as many as possible. That way there is less pressure but more acquired home, and building generational wealth together.
What sets me apart is paying close attention and identifying what my clients believe might be stopping them from buying or selling their home and providing possible solutions to it.
I have come to understand within a short period of time in this business, that being an agent is more than just getting a home for a client, most times you get to connect more with these clients, by building a personal and professional relationship based on trust and honesty.
It can get very emotional yet exciting when I find my clients their dream home, negotiate for the best offer, the excitement on closing day, or see their investment property either yield passive income or build equity, this makes me feel a sense of accomplishment and purpose.
I won’t sit here and say it’s been an easy journey as a new agent who has a lot to learn but I am loving every step and enjoying the process.
My initial challenge was time blocking myself to do all that it’s needed as a business woman, especially coming out from the 9-5 tech world as a Cyber Security Analyst to owning a real estate business, It sure comes with it’s own responsibilities but I had to switch to “Think like a CEO” mindset and that changed a lot . To add it all, Discipline, Consistency, Gratitude, Attitude, Change in Mindset, and 1% better everyday in what you do, goes a long way.
The world needs to know that I am more than an agent, I can be a reliable friend, family, and most importantly your real estate consultant who puts your needs first.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a spontaneous person and there have been research that says that those that are spontaneous tend to be more flexible, relaxed and are ultimately happier with their lives which is true because I am.
Apart from taking them to the gym “haha”, I will take them to play golf which I find interesting but I am not so good at it, at the Allen top golf location where I am a member. Go to a nice restaurant for tasty cocktails, food and nice views. Thank God Dallas has many to pick from. The Statler, Monarch Restaurant, get cocktails at Harpers, sushi at KAI legacy west, the Charles speakeasy, Concrete Cowboys Frisco, Dallas beautiful skyline, Highland park village, and Nigerian Jollof from Gidi Bar and Grill, Fusion Vibes or Aso rockMarket and listen to afro beat you sure can’t beat that!.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My story is very interesting but first I am grateful to God how far he has brought me.
Growing up from a little town in Nigeria raised by a single strong mother who did everything to raise me well, So I will love to thank my mother for all she has done, still doing, and all she had to give up for me, I didn’t understand how difficult it was raising me all by herself while growing up, but as days go by I wonder how she did it. I love you mama bear and I will continue to make you happy and proud.
I will also like to thank my beloved family, friends, big aunties, uncles and my community who have loved and been so supportive in all I do, there is a saying “ it takes a village to raise a child” we have created beautiful memories in person and online I couldn’t have asked more thank you.
A very big shout out to all my Clients, Gary Keller, Brokerage (Keller Williams DPR ) Coaches, and Co workers they have made this journey knowledgeable, challenging, purposeful, smooth, and successful.
To Pastor Eddie at (City Point Church Allen ) Eric Thomas aka ET, have helped shape my life tremendously.
