We had the good fortune of connecting with CAROL RIDDICK and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi CAROL, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued a career in the arts because it’s my passion, it is where I feel most comfortable, grounded, unique and authentic. It calls to me and exercising my creativity feels so natural to me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe we’re all created equal but different; that’s what makes life/art so special and intriguing. It’s also why I believe we all feel a universal connection to things artistic. I am a lover of nature and all things pure and genuine. I am a firm believer in GOD & my faith is steady and resolute. I am where I am today, professionally, because of my beliefs, my determination and not giving up. It’s not easy being in the entertainment industry and It’s even less easy as a woman. I’ve learned that you must stay true to who you are, be your authentic self and maintain your belief in the most high, rely on him, pray to him and walk in your gift(s) for the purpose he has for you. I want the world to know that as long as I am ABLE, I will do what HE allows me to do. The music I create is soothing, fun and easily relatable. I find the simpler things in life to be my most treasured.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love all things nature. We would start the week going to breakfast/brunch at Terrain in Glen Mills. I love the food and the atmosphere. We’d walk in the morning at John Heinz Wildlife Refuge, go on a day trip to either Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square or Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ and we’d spend the evenings at SOUTH (Jazz Kitchen) in Philadelphia for the music, atmosphere and food. There are so many places to visit but these are my gems and where I go the most.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am a culmination of the efforts of Marcine Riddick (mother), William “Pee Wee” Marshall (Father), ALL of my grade school teachers & educators, anyone who gave me a pearl of wisdom and/or constructive criticism, all of my friends & family that provide unwavering support and the most High who makes all possible.
