We had the good fortune of connecting with Chyenne Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chyenne, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
After graduating from High School/College, I decided to make a big leap & I moved to Dallas, TX. The first large city I fell in love with at a younger age. I used to visit Dallas in my teens and I knew I had to live there one day. Fast forward to my early 20’s I did just that. I met my now wife, Kristin Smith at age 22 and still didn’t really know what I wanted to do. At this point in time social media, via Instagram, started to blow up and this thing called an “Influencer” started to become a real thing… a real job making real money. I thought well… why not. I had a smaller following at the time, maybe around 3,500 followers. What I thought would be a fun little side hustle became much much more than that. In just a year I quickly grew my following to over 20 thousand followers. Working with dream brands like Levi’s, Target, Fabletic’s, Macy’s, and more. I even worked with a hotel in Cabo on a fully paid social media campaign. I never thought this would be possible for a small-town girl like me. Fast forward 2 more years, I now have over 100,000 followers combined on all social media platforms.

Today, I’ve started helping small businesses grow and master their own social media. 7th Street Social is a culmination of the past few years. You are your own worst critic — if I could take my social media platforms to the next level, I knew I could do it for other brands and companies as well. That’s why I launched my own social media/Marketing company called, 7TH Street Social. A digital brand styling agency specializing in brand identity, social media management, photography, gif making, web design, and more. 7TH Street Social started because we saw a need for real connections with your followers and sphere in the digital world. The biggest piece of advice I can give to others: follow your intuition, keep a positive mindset, and capitalize on your opportunities.

What should our readers know about your business?
I grew up in a small town outside of Norman, Oklahoma with my younger sister and parents. I always dreamed of living in a big city and owning some sort of business. After my mom passed away at age 12 things started to change for me. I had to grow up very quickly and really learn how to be an adult at a young age. It helped me become the business women I am today — independent, strong, and confident. I worked as a bartender/server (like we all did) starting out… and honestly loved it, but I needed more consistency in my life.

It hasn’t always been a smooth road. I had a lot of challenges growing up. My mom passed away at age 12. Which is an age where you really need your mom, that’s a huge growing time in a younger woman’s life. Fast forward to age 21, I lost my father as well. I could have really let this affect me when it comes to feeling depressed or let my anxiety take over my life.

I decided to turn it all around and make it more positive. I use my social media platforms to help others with social media but I also share a positive message. We all go through extreme challenges in life. It’s up to us to grow from those challenges or suffer from them. This is why I started 7TH Street Social and now I get the chance to work with incredibly talented women! Here’s a few things about 7TH Street Social.

What we do: where could your marketing & branding use improvement? Do you have the time to consistently post on all social platforms? Who helps with your graphics + videos + branding? As much as society expects these things to come natural, marketing your brand is a full-time job. We are here to help you succeed and convert clients via social media.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Dallas has a food scene like no other! I love living in a city that has great food, yummy drinks, and activities to do for the entire family! I like to celebrate all things, small and big. One of my favorite days of the week to celebrate has to be Tuesday (tequila Tuesday) I love grabbing a good margarita after a long work day to celebrate my wins! My favorite place to go is, E Bar in Dallas! Great atmosphere, great drinks and incredible food.

Another fun spot I like to go is the new Globe Life Park to see the Rangers play! They also have great concerts!

Last thing I would do would be to take a nice walk on the Katy Trail, a 3.5 mile long trail that runs from Downtown Dallas to Knox Henderson area! It’s a beautiful walking/running/biking trail. You can walk off the trail and get coffee, eat lunch or dinner.
