We had the good fortune of connecting with Caleb Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caleb, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
One of my favorite books of all time is The Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. Gladwell illustrates principles that successful people implement in their lives. One of my favorite principles is called the 10,000 Hour Rule. Essentially it takes 10,000 hours of focused, hardworking to become an expert in a field. I use that principle in every aspect of my life to become a well-rounded individual.
What should our readers know about your business?
Growing up my mom would always refer to my siblings and me as Smitty. With my name being Caleb, the nickname Csmitty was born and stuck ever since. I started Csmitty LLC in 2019, following a surgical procedure. The brand is a representation of self: self-love, self-appreciation, and self-worth. I wanted to create something that could resonate with everyone regardless of race, gender, and sexual orientation. Csmitty is a reflection of who I am as a person and what I represent. My logo has three elements: The cross, which represents my Christian Faith; The pen, which presents my creativity and storytelling ability; The kicking silhouette, which represents my passion for soccer. The mission of Csmitty LLC is serving others. We want to be known as a brand that helps people in every aspect of life. Whether that’s helping them with their dribbling footwork on the field or helping them realize their worth in this world, we aim to seek people and meet them where they are.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in the great city of Fort Worth. Home to lots of great eating places and fun entertaining things to do. I’m a big fan of hole-in-the-wall, mom & pop eating places. I’m also a big breakfast person. I would take them to Montgomery Street Cafe in Fort Worth. It’s small, quaint eatery with an amazing ambiance and homey feel. As far as parks, I would go to Trinity Park in Fort Worth. They have an amazing view of the Trinity River. You can Kayak, Bike, Walk, Run, or sit on the benches and enjoy an amazing view of Fort Worth. Other outdoor activities include the Fort Worth Stockyards, the Fort Worth Zoo, Fort Worth Water Gardens, and Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. For nightlife, 7th Street has a a variety of great bars and lounges to socialize and dance.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost I want to shoutout my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for allowing me to be in the position that I’m in. He is my rock and is the reason why I’m able to have what I have. Secondly I want to thank my parents for being the foundation in my life. They’ve raised me, shaped me, and molded me into the person I am today. They’ve echoed the importance of hardworking, dedication, and humility in order to achieve something. They’re preached the importance of kindness, gratitude, and selflessness. I want to thank my family and friends for always loving and supporting me. I want to thank my coaching staff, Jade King and Michaelann Greenfield, for being amazing co-workers and people. They are a vital part to the success of our business and are amazing people to work with.
