Meet Carla Gamble | Singer, Songwriter, Actress, Entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carla Gamble and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carla, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson my business/career has taught me is that everyone is not your friend, and the entertainment business is tough. When I walk in any room, I do so with a kind, humble and welcoming vibe. It’s not always reciprocated to me in the same way I treat people. It does sting a little but the experience of keeping a small circle of friends and not giving everyone a piece of me, has been a great way of going about protecting my energy.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an artist/creative so I truly believe my individuality sets me apart from others. I naturally bring a funky, energetic sound to my music and magnetic presence that people seem to gravitate to when they see me perform. I am most proud of myself for maintaining my level of confidence and hard work. Professionally, I have developed a “Never Give Up” attitude, by consistently learning more about myself, expanding my knowledge about music and networking with people in the industry.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Welcome to the city of Philadelphia Bestie!
First, let’s check you into one of the many amazingly beautiful hotels in the Downtown, Center City area. There are tons of one of a kind eateries/restaurants and unique outdoor murals that blanket the city walls. You can check out the National Constitution Center, Liberty Bell, Fashion District Mall and you don’t want miss Spruce Street Harbor Park.
Check out dozens of live event spaces located along the river front, and stadium areas. Everyone loves to try a good Philly cheesesteak, so make sure you get one. Lastly take a visit to historic South Street. 15+ blocks of shopping where you can get anything from jewelry and crystals, to clothing and shoes.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a few people that I would like to give recognition to for their efforts, support, love, and encouragement. I would first like to thank my wife, she has been such a true blessing to my life. She shows up for me every time, she manages my career, introduces me on stage and sometimes will even sing background vocals for me for a show. I want to thank my best friends for talking me through doubts, fears, anxiety, and frustrations. My best friends are like my sisters, and when I need them they are always there for me, especially during times when music seems to be overwhelming and I just need my spirit lifted. Last but not least, I would like to thank my mom, mother-n-law, aunts and cousins, for supporting me and my wife with their support and love.
