We had the good fortune of connecting with Hynece “Hynni B” Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hynece “Hynni B”, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always been a creative person. Whether it was singing, acting, crafts or now comedy. I inherited a lot of my mom’s talents which led me to being able to go “Center-stage” and express myself in front of WORLD!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I first took the stage and became a comedian I. January 2018. What was supposed to be a 5 minute set became a 30 minute show. I knew then this is what I was meant to do. I bring my personal stories to the stage to encourage others and most importantly to make them laugh. Being a 2 year survivor of breast cancer, I live every moment of my life trying to see the BEST in situations and make others see it too. I’ve been blessed to share the stage with some of the best in the business like Comedian Shang and Gary Owens and I have had the privilege of gracing the stage at the Improv. I bring an edgy quick wit to the stage and love incorporating my audience in the fun. I’ve been able to start my brand, Happy Hustle and produce comedy shows to present a platform for other up and coming comedians as well. I’m looking forward to my future on the stage and finding ways to expand my comedy brand in film and television. I’ve recently combined my brand with on-air personality, Aubrey Shine to create HBShine in which we will be coming out with an online women’s boutique.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my Shout Out to my daughter, On-Air personality, Aubrey Shine. She has always motivated me to be my Best Me! She inspires me and supports me in everything I do. She took over the “cheerleader” role after my mom passed in 2011 and continues to be my biggest fan! I’d also attribute my easy transition into comedy to the late Comedian Lavell “Velly Vel” Harris who suddenly and passed away in June and Comedian CC (Krystal Smith), both of Tulsa, OK who encouraged me to take my story to the stage and make others laugh.
