Meet Keonna Shaw | Godfidence Coach & Writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Keonna Shaw and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Keonna, how do you think about risk?
There are many definitions of risk. Unfortunately, when most people hear the word, their mind fills with uncertainty, ultimately focusing on all the ways something can go wrong. Then doubt and fear set in and cripples one from taking a risk. It’s like having a million what-ifs echoing in your mind simultaneously. I know because my outlook hasn’t always been so positive. When I think about taking risks, I refer to it as taking a Leap of Faith. Yes, risks are leaps of Faith. I am confident the outcome will be good—my perspective shifts from a monetary standpoint to being effective and impactful. I focus less on the quantity and more on the effect, the lasting impression, the feeling of fulfillment, joy, and peace. That’s a success, that’s successful.
The role of taking leaps of Faith has resulted in less procrastination and fear. The more leaps of Faith I take is preparation to soar. (Soar definition: to rise well above the usual or ordinary level or bounds; be elevated).
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally? What sets you apart from others?
I am a writer and Godfidence Coach. Now I have shifted from less blogging to having other women write and share their stories on my blog. Some even work with me to help with their blog performance, editing, and creating their blogs and ebooks. As a Godfidence Coach, I provide resources and challenges for one to be intentional with cultivating godly confidence.
What sets me apart from others? Me.
My patience, love, guidance, and gift of reading the writer’s feel set me apart from others.
Refusing to give up and working on my crafts is how I got here today. I can’t forget the mentors and classes I’ve taken to start my blogs, advance my writing, and deepen my knowledge/study of God’s Word.
I am most proud that the good outweighs the bad. It’s all a part of my testimony. God empowers me and has equipped me to mentor other young girls and women.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Listen, I’m more of a homebody, but I love to eat!! I would definitely find us a good eating spot and back home, lol. Right now, my favorite eating spots are Charlie’s Creole Kitchen and Waya Japanese Izakaya. Charlie’s fish and cajun tamales are so yum! I’ve tried many other entrees, but the fish is the best! The Shrimp Yakisoba and Veggie Yakisoba are incredibly delicious from Waya.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, GOD. There is no way possible I get to do anything without him, from the people, guidance of leaders, wise council, resources, friends, my Mamalan, support, and everything else he continues to bless me with on this journey. Secondly, I want to recognize my amazing husband. He has seen me evolve into the woman I am now and who I’m becoming. Honey, when you read this, thank you for your love and your endless support with everything I bring to you. Thank you for covering me with your prayers. Thirdly, my son CJ. He always encourages me and lets me know he loves me and is proud of me. Last, I would like to thank my tribe. They not only uplift me but also hold me accountable and always support and cover me in prayer. Thank you so much! I love you all more than you know.
