We had the good fortune of connecting with Cynthia & Carolina Tolentino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cynthia & Carolina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The Party Edition grew out of love and passion for not only party decorating, but from the ability to create memorable experiences for others to celebrate next to their loved ones. The idea of sharing life-long moments and helping others do the same – for their little ones, themselves, or their own passions even – is what led us to take the first step. What initially started as a hobby has turned into a business venture that we as sisters truly enjoy doing together. We love parties very much, and the aesthetic and decor side of it has always caught our attention. The fact that it makes other people happy makes up happy too. Besides the lack of square footage in our houses due to the increasing amount of decor, this passion of ours has also filled our desire to improve our client’s party experiences by providing creative and fun ideas. We ultimately took the leap of faith to start our small business out of the words of encouragement from family and friends. As we helped them with their own party setups over time, we saw the business opportunity in doing something with our craft. We are beyond grateful for the support that we have received, the people we have met, and the amazing opportunities – such as this one – that we have been a part of thus far.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One thing that gets us excited is…balloons, of course. They have become such a unique decor piece to feature not only at parties, but other events as well. They, literally, pop. While we continue to perfect our craft and explore what works best for our small business, it has been a journey thus far. Some projects aren’t as easy as they seem to be, so we have to research or come up with one of our own solutions to overcome any challenges that come our way. If it is seeking help from another fellow balloon artist or taking risks in doing something new, then that is what we do. The Party Edition prides itself in doing just that, provide a unique and notable party or celebration – a unique edition of someone’s life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The last couple of months, we have enjoyed visiting the Fort Worth Stockyards more than ever before. The district has recently been renovated to attract not only tourists but also fellow citizens. We love going for brunch at one of the local restaurants, followed by walking around and listening to a live band while sipping on an ice cold margarita. This is an area for people of all ages which makes it perfect for family and friend groups to come together.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Party Edition wouldn’t be possible without the help and support from our family. From our Home Depot shopping sprees to the behind the scenes work, our family is who encourages us the most. They help us bring our ideas – sometimes crazy ones – to life. They motivate us to be a better version of ourselves, both for our business and as individuals. This new endeavor that we have undertook since the beginning of this year in January of 2022 wouldn’t be possible without their support.
