We had the good fortune of connecting with Drew Taunton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Drew, how does your business help the community?
I believe coaching is essential for any community or place in the world. Coaching helps people transform into the person they want to become and put a real plan to pursuing their goals and dreams. It also creates an environment where we can be truly honest and have someone in our corner pushing us to success. Coaching is multidimensional and there are many avenues to travel down with the clients.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
With my coaching career something that sets me apart is I am still young enough to relate to a lot of my clients and be able to show them paths to success. I am also able to understand a lot of the pressures and stressors they face at that age range. Something I am proud of us is being a certified life coach and also work on getting a master’s in counseling at 21. I’ve gotten here today through hard work and the guidance of a lot great people and mentors in my life, especially my boss. It has been an easy and difficult process. The difficult part is being so young and not having a crazy amount of experience, however, not being afraid of that and using it as an opportunity to grow and relate. Through this I’ve learned to put myself out there and see failure as the path to success. I want the world to know that it is possible to succeed young and that coaching can be used for any age group and truly does help change lives.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to a Texas Rangers game, we are the best team in baseball and the games are very exciting. I would also take them to Evo in Southlake to go bowling and go to the arcades. There is a bar there with food and drinks if we want some. Would love to visit the Forth Worth symphony and afterwards visit downtown for awhile. We would finish the trip going to my family’s ranch for the weekend.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would definitely shoutout my boss Bruce Cameron. He is a fellow life coach but also is a LPC-S. Bruce has taught me a lot about the field of mental health. Some examples are office management, how to network, and he also is someone I can bring questions to and receive encouragement. I would also like to shoutout my own coach David Greene, he is a life coach in Auburn, AL. He helped me through a lot of my own problems and talked about his experience being a coach. He was a great source of help and a safe place for me to be honest with what was happening in my life.
