Artists and creatives face innumerable challenges given that their career path often doesn’t come with a playbook, a steady paycheck or any form of safety net. It’s definitely not easy and so we asked a few of the artists and creatives we admire to talk to us about why they chose to pursue an artistic or creative career.

Luna Flor | Aerialist, Fire Performer & Instructor

When I was 16 my first job was a local pizza store till I was 18, my jobs always kinda involded a type of art form that was more out of the norm for some, such as Adult Novelty Stores like Gas Pipe, Dragons Breath, Electrique Boutique, Local Gentlemans Clubs and even opened my own Smoke Shop, Labyrinth in September 2012, only to close shop & switch to online for short time in late 2017. I worked in the Novelty industry for most of my late teens to late 20s, met my husband working at Gas Pipe which then led me to meeting his now sister in law who brought me to my first aerial class back in late 2010 I could probably say confidently that a creative career was always in the books for me.
