Where are you from and how did your background and upbringing impact who you are today?


Through our work we have had the good fortune of seeing firsthand how success comes in every shape, size, color, faith, and orientation. More importantly we’ve learned that success is often the result of people embracing their unique backgrounds and so we’ve asked the community to tell us about their background and how it has impacted where they are today.

I’m originally from Dallas, Texas. As a child, I was deeply artistic and emotionally attuned, yet I quickly had to learn how to navigate a world that could be harsh and unforgiving. Art and animals became my sanctuary. Though I once dreamed of becoming a veterinary scientist, I never imagined that animal grooming would become such an important part of my story. I was born and brought up in Ibadan, Nigeria. My dad always encouraged us owning businesses and making our own money. He gave my sister the idea of having event hostesses for his friend’s book launch. And that was how the Event business started. I worked with my sister as her assistant and/or supervisor for years and that was how I got the passion for Event Management. Read More>>

I always love answering this question because there is somewhat of a story behind it. I was born in Chicago IL, but moved to Dallas when I was a baby. During my childhood years, my family and I actually moved to Mexico and I got to experience life in a whole different country. After three years, we moved back to Dallas and the rest is history. I’m from Dallas, Texas, born and raised. Growing up in a first-generation Latina household has shaped every part of who I am today. My parents came to this country with a dream, and watching their sacrifices taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and staying grounded in my roots.
