We had the good fortune of connecting with Emilee Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emilee, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from Dallas, Texas, born and raised. Growing up in a first-generation Latina household has shaped every part of who I am today. My parents came to this country with a dream, and watching their sacrifices taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and staying grounded in my roots. Being the oldest sibling, I naturally stepped into leadership roles early on, which pushed me to become someone my family and community could depend on.
At times, navigating school, work, and opportunities felt overwhelming, but it also gave me a deep sense of responsibility and pride. I learned how important it is to advocate not just for myself but for others who come from similar backgrounds. My upbringing gave me a passion for leadership, service, and breaking barriers — whether that’s in my professional life, my involvement in community organizations, or representing my city as Miss Mundo Latina Dallas. Everything I do is rooted in honoring where I come from while paving a path for others who may be walking similar journeys.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
A lot of what I do reflects different parts of who I am — being a first-generation Latina college graduate, a businesswoman, a community leader, and someone who’s passionate about creating opportunities for others. I recently graduated with my BBA in Business Management and a minor in Energy Technology and Management from TCU, while also working on an Associate’s Degree in Construction Management. My professional goals are rooted in entrepreneurship, specifically in the construction industry, where I hope to one day own my own business — an industry that’s not often led by women who look like me.
What sets me apart is that I’ve never been afraid to take on spaces where I might be the “only one” or the “first one.” From pageantry to business to leadership roles, I step into these spaces knowing that representation matters — not just for me, but for the younger girls who will come after me.
The journey hasn’t always been easy. Being a full-time student while working, interning, leading organizations, and managing family responsibilities has tested me in many ways. But I’ve learned to trust my process, stay grounded in my purpose, and remind myself why I started. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you don’t have to have it all figured out to keep going — consistency, heart, and faith will take you far.
At the core of my story is my culture, my family, and my community. My brand is about breaking barriers, showing up authentically, and creating impact — whether that’s through my career, my title as Miss Mundo Latina Dallas, or simply being someone who shows other young Latinas that their dreams are valid and possible.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s no way I’d be where I am today without the support system that’s been behind me since day one. First and foremost, my parents — their sacrifices and hard work have been the foundation of everything I’ve accomplished. They came to this country with nothing but a dream, and watching them create a life for our family has been my biggest motivation.
I also owe so much to the incredible organizations and mentors who have poured into me along the way. Being a part of Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc., the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas, and Latinas in Progress has given me opportunities to lead, grow, and connect with powerful women who inspire me every single day. The sisterhood, mentorship, and community I’ve found through these spaces have played a huge role in shaping my leadership and confidence.
Lastly, I’m grateful for every mentor, professor, and friend who has believed in me, offered guidance, and reminded me that I belong in the rooms I step into — whether it’s in business, pageantry, or life. It truly takes a village, and I’m lucky to have one that constantly lifts me up.
