Taking Risk is essential, but how much, when and why? Taking risks effectively is as much of an art as it is a science and we’ve asked some of the brightest folks in the community to tell us about how they think about risk taking.

I see risk as a necessary part of growing not just as an artist, but as a person. Moving to a new city as a tattoo artist was a major leap for me. I left behind a familiar environment, existing clientele, and a very supportive community all to start fresh in an unfamiliar place. That decision pushed me to adapt quickly, put myself out there, and find creative ways to connect with new clients.

I believe risk is the price you pay for growth. Every major turning point in my life and career came from choosing to bet on myself when the outcome wasn’t guaranteed. I look at risk as an opportunity disguised as uncertainty — and while it can be uncomfortable, it’s often where the real elevation happens.
Taking risks has taught me resilience, adaptability, and trust in my own instincts. From leaving environments that no longer served me to starting businesses from scratch, every risk I’ve taken either worked in my favor or taught me a lesson that sharpened my vision. Taking risk has completely changed my perspective of life. I’ve taken Many risk, but none of them are losses. They were all lessons. Lessons that molded me into who I am today and into who I needed to be in order for me to succeed.
