Perspectives on Risk-Taking

There is a wealth of academic research that suggests that differences in risk appetite are at the heart of differences in career and business trajectories. We wanted to go beyond the theory and ask real people from the community about their perspectives and experiences with risk and risk taking.

I truly believe that with all risks come big rewards! I took the biggest leap of faith in 2021 leaving my great paying job to fully dive into my business. I’m originally from Mexico, I was brought over at the age of 6 from Monterrey Nuevo León. Risk taking has always played a huge role in my life, since my first encounter at the age of 6. I’ve always viewed Risk taking as a decision “Do I walk away from fear, or do I face it”. The words “Risk taking” is just a bolder way of interpreting the lessons you’ve gained or learned from. Risks can be good or bad. For me I’m consider to be the good risk taker. Why I say that is because since elementary school, I like trying different thing. I played flagged football with the boys. I’ve moved too a couple a states, but with a plan. Starting my business was the biggest risk that I’ve ever take. Read more>>

My career started out as a risk, after completing school and being laid off. I took the time to build my business. It was “time” that I invested in myself, setting goals, getting organized, and embracing a lifelong time of things that I enjoy and love in life and learning to evolve and master those things to become successful in them. I feel like taking risks is an important part of life. If we were to just sit around and stay in our comfort zone, we would never get to discover that potential that is inside all of us. Taking risks has helped me grow as a person and content creator. If I had not taken the risk of uploading my content on my social media platforms and continue to post regardless of the little engagement that I was getting in the beginning, I wouldn’t be where I am today, and where I will be in the future.
