Meet Yolanda Gordon | Model coach and mentor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yolanda Gordon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yolanda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to help others gain confidence and see that they can do anything they truly put their mind and heart into. So many people were struggling with self confidence and I wanted to assist in the best way possible to make them feel 100% good about themselves

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is called New Identity Modeling LLC which was created in May of 2020. Our goal is to build confidence you never thought you had. I noticed when I started modeling there was really no place to go for someone to help you if you never modeled before but wanted to. I decided to create a place to do just that, a place to be yourself and to love every part of you. We help teach you how to walk with your head held high, be comfortable and confident in your own skin and with expressing yourself in your walk and poses. Learn how to use facial expressions and what works for you without feeling judged but to feel uplifted and encouraged to be great. We also assist in helping build your portfolio so you can branch out to do so much more within the industry, just pretty much preparing you for the model world and what it has to offer. Now I definitely had my ups and downs but I overcame them all by not stopping. I took it all as a lesson learned and kept it pushing. Those lessons were to never allow anyone to dim your light, tell you no you cant, or you might as well give up.. I am here to build, love and see each and every person I work with be the best version of them selves and to succeed. That’s my end goal and what makes my heart smile.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well actually by best friend from North Carolina came down who I hadn’t seen in years!! I had her all over Dallas. I was actually working on putting my fashion show together which she was here to see how my casting calls went and all I go through. Then of course I took her downtown and we walked around and hit up a couple happy hours and did a brunch. I honestly forgot the name of the spot and they are actually closed down now. Either way no matter where we went she loved it cause she had never been here before. I don’t really go out like that because I’m always working but I would love to have her here for one of the movie premiers for a movie I have played a part in or even just to be on set maybe even get a part in it as an extra. or at least her music because she is an amazing artist

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a few people but to the ones that actually started me in this direction and showed nothing but love and support would be Aneesah Perkins and Shana Wright
