We had the good fortune of connecting with Wolves Reign and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wolves, why did you pursue a creative career?
So, we chose to pursue Wolves Reign as a band because we actively felt like we had a sound to offer that doesn’t exist in the dialogue of progressive music yet. We, as listeners, consider ourselves to be the people who listen to everything, and our music definitely reflects that. We feel that we have something to say with our albums, “Human Nature” and it’s follow-up in the works, “Nurture”, where we analyze and question the things that we consider our own nature vs. What we’ve learned.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In general, something we pride ourselves on is our cohesion and dedication to each other as friends before the music even comes into play. We know plenty of very talented groups that in the end couldn’t stay together because they were just bad at conflict resolution or the lack of shared vision. With us, the vision is big enough that it can encompass us all, and in terms of shaping it, we’re very good about communicating to make sure everyone is heard and has a hand in the finished product. That kind of intention and attention to detail is what makes our music what it is, not to mention what makes a band sustainable for over a decade. Something we’re excited about is our next album entitled Nurture that is set to release in 2026. We really believe that it will be one of the best Dallas albums in its long decorated history with the story-telling, our sounds, and the overall journey of the album.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So, you absolutely have to catch some live music in Deep Ellum one of those nights, whether it’s just walking into Three Links, Club Dada, Trees, Ruins, or the Doublewide, SOMETHING cool will be going on somewhere. For food, gotta have your Tex-Mex, get your Texas Barbecue, but if you want to get a LITTLE bit experimental, there’s great places like Beto and Son or Loro to give you their twist on these classics.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A big part of us developing our sound has to do with the Dallas Music Scene and our fans for supporting us throughout these past 11 years. Collectively, we think the music schools at Richland College, and UT Arlington have a huge impact on us becoming the musicians we are today. Individually, Eric wants to credit organizations like The Dallas Opera, who he sings for, for helping to develop him in his artistic vision.
