We had the good fortune of connecting with Violet Baker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Violet, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to start my own business because I wanted to change the waxing culture. I wanted to be able to offer services that are not rushed, professional products that cater to the body and create a judgment free space. Waxing services go beyond the wax room, so I wanted to make a personalized experience.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Violet’s Beaute Palace is a place where everyone is welcome and treated as royalty. I offer full body waxing to all genders, as well as skin services and seeking the best products for my clients. Not only do i wax, I also educate on proper aftercare and intimate care. I offer a range of products that I personally use and love that are made with active ingredients to work on the skin. I’ve been in business for three years and I’ve been waxing for 5 years. It has been a journey but it is worth it. I am really passionate about waxing but also providing an environment for others to also learn and have the resources to care for the skin on the body and intimate areas. i believe there is a lot of misinformation when it comes to skin and intimate care and I’m here to destigmatize that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would go to pirahnna ramen to eat/happy hour. bethanys boba for boba tea. the tipsy alchemist for late drinks. and the gas station down the street for tacos. theres also quite a few places in downtown arlington.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout all of my friends and family who have helped me along the way. most importantly my clients as well. it takes more than just me to make this happen
