We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Gibbs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Growing up I actually never had the thought to start my own business. Everyone in my family works at typical 9 to 5 job until they’re 65 and retire! I thought I was meant to do the same thing. I went to school at Texas Tech University and got my degree in personal financial planning, because I love money and working with people. Turns out I was really good at it and I really did enjoy it! But let’s just say learning about it and actually working in the real world are two very different things. I really did love the job and the work I did and the people I worked with BUT I quickly realize that I did not enjoy sitting at a desk all day long stuck inside, especially when it was beautiful outside. Thankfully at that point in my life i’ve been exposed to many entrepreneurs and so many women living the life I started dreaming about! So I decided to start building my business on the side while I worked full-time and here I am, 3.5 years later as a full time online health & wellness coach! I know in in charge of my own schedule every day, can travel whenever and wherever I want, and can also work wherever and whenever I want! Hands down, the best thing I ever did was starting to work towards my dream life in the pocket of the life I was living at the time.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When it comes to my health and fitness clients, One thing I feel like that’s sets me apart is that I was once in their shoes! Seven years ago I started my own journey overweight, unhealthy, and very unhappy with my life! I worked through the hard times and I can relate to them on a level that others that haven’t been there can’t relate to.

I’m most excited about continuing to help women with their health and fitness journey every single day! It literally lights up my soul whenever I receive a text saying how much I inspire them and how much I’ve changed their life. It definitely keeps me jumping out of bed every single day!

Getting to where I was today definitely wasn’t easy! And by no means where I want to be, but I will keep showing up and putting in the work every day. What it takes to grow business is consistency day after day, which after week, year after year, especially on the days you don’t want to!

I’ve gone through a lot of tough patches over the last almost 4 years of growing my business but one thing that has help me overcome a lot of the obstacles is focusing and taking care of me every single day! That typically looks like taking an hour in the morning to do gratitude, prayer, devotional, and possibly reading some pages of a book. I also make sure that I move my body in someway for 30 minutes a day. Personal development books have been a game changer for my mindset and my business!

I want the world to know that anything really is possible if you put your heart, mind, soul into it! You’re gonna have good days and you’re gonna have bad days but what matters most is that you continue to show up and have consistency. Make sure you’re surrounding yourself with like-minded people who are going to lift you up instead of tearing you down! It’s not always an easy journey but I promise you that it will be worth it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the
best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I even like gluten-free so I’m always looking for great places to check out food wise! Some of my favorite places to grab yummy eats from with great gluten free options are:

-Seven Mile Cafe in Flower Mound/Lewisville has great brunch!
-Snooze also has amazing brunch!
-I love Unrefined Bakery cupcakes!
-The Cedar Ridge Preserve is a beautiful place to go hiking
-I always love going to the Dallas farmers market with my boyfriend and dogs on the weekends
-Legacy Hall is a fun place to get a little something for everyone
-Pie tap has AMAZING pizza

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly I think my shot out would have to go to my boyfriend, Devin! Although I started working on my business before I met him, he’s what helped me propel my vision and my business where it is now. He also quit his full-time job a little over a year ago to build his own business. I got to see him working super hard on his dreams and his goals every day and it inspired me to take the leap of faith to leave my full-time job and to really pour into my business as well. Now we both get to work at home full-time with our two dogs and cat and we are creating the life some people could only dream of!
