We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica McCreary and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veronica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Since I was a teenager, I’ve always loved fashion. Also, I’ve always wanted to own my own business since I graduated from High School, but I ended up going to college for Criminal Justice. Later on in life I decided I no longer wanted to pursue that field. My thought process behind starting my own business begin when COVID hit. I didn’t lose my job, but I thought to myself what if I were one of those who lost my job. I started researching what it takes to own a business. I also started watching fashion boutique owners on Facebook. They would go live to sell/promote their inventory. So, one day I said to myself, if they can do it, I can do it. I started researching on YouTube how to obtain an LLC, I got my LLC, then I decided to launch my boutique this year on my Birthday (as a Birthday gift to myself) which is 10/22.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I currently work full time as a Case Manager for a company where I assist patients and health care providers during their journey to obtain financial assistance. I also own and operate Lady V Glam Boutique which will launch October 22, 2022. One day I would love to only operate Lady V Glam Boutique only. What sets me apart from other boutique owners is my heart (not to say others don’t have a heart), but I genuinely care about what I sell in my boutique (such as quality of items). I love helping people. I am not just trying to make a dollar. I want individuals to love what they purchase from my boutique. I want them to feel glamourous and confident. One thing I did was post fashion items on my Facebook page, which helped me to learn customers. Now I feel like I know my customers and what they like. Also, I love making people feel special on the inside. I love making people smile. I am most proud that I took a leap of faith to start Lady V Glam Boutique. I got to where I am today off the strength of God, my family and friends. I am not really where I want to be, but I will get there. I want the world to know I have worked extremely hard, and I took no shortcuts. I did my own research to become a business owner. I will continue to grow and educate myself to build my brand. My goal is to have a six to seven figure business. I want to make women feel fashionable at an affordable price. I will continue to put my trust and faith in God, and work extremely hard. I want to leave a legacy to my family.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1 – I would take my friend to a winery, Galleria Mall to go shopping, then Cheesecake Factory (one of our favorite restaurants). Day 2 – We would go for manicures and pedicures, then a relaxing massage.
Day 3 – A tour downtown Dallas, TX, then eat good Mexican food and good drinks.
Day 4 – I would take her to tour Dallas Cowboys stadium, then dinner at a nice restaurant.
Day 5 – We would go to Ft. Worth Botanical Garden, then a Chinese restaurant.
Day 6 – We would go to Dallas Aquarium, lunch, then shopping at The Shops at Willow Bend.
Day 7 – We would go to brunch at La Madeleine’s, then more shopping at the nearest shopping center.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God, my family and friends have played a major role in my success. I am not as successful as I would like to be, but I am grateful for where I am. I know things will be even better when I launch. Without God, I am nothing. I have to give him all the honor, praise, and glory. Also, my family and friends have been very encouraging and supportive. I specifically want to shout out my fiancé James, without him I would not have been able to financially support my dream. He is an amazing man. I also would like to shoutout to my kids Kylan and Kyrsten, they have motivated and inspired me in so many ways. Also, I also would like to shoutout my friend Seneca for pushing me to launch my boutique earlier than I intended. My family and friends have been pivotal in my success. They’re always there when I need them. I truly appreciate them for dealing with me in the beginning, a lot of sleepless nights.
