We had the good fortune of connecting with Vaishali Verma and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vaishali, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I was never a person who would give special thought about my Work Life Blanace. Why? Cause me and my husband mostly will do stuff in sync. Like if you work, I work. If you cook, I clean. If u watch soccer, I do ccontent creation. BUT in Last 1.5 years things have changed. I became a mom. Now it is not just Work, Home, Content Creation and Social Life. Now I have a baby who is totally dependent on me. Who needs my time and love. The answer to Work Life Balance changed right there. My work is limited to work hours. If my baby needs attention, I shift my work to late night hours. I have to become flexible. Best part is the support from my husband. He helps me in everything so that I have time for my work life and and also follow my passion of blogging. The path is not easy. The balance is tough. But I have learnt one thing, Not everything is important or has to be in top most priority. One has to priortize. Pick your things. You will be able to achieve more and be at peace. I get this question a lot, How do I do a full time job , blogging and take care of baby. The only answer is I have a list of things that needs to be done and list of things that can be delayed. Like you might do laundry daily and fold immediately. For me it happens once a week and folding might take forever. Haha 🙂

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Full Time Software Engineer. I am doing Java development since 2010. I personally can not think about anything else as my career. I love it and my life without it will be clueless. Here is a thing about Coders and Developers. They are supposed to be Geeks and have no Fashion Sense. Well that is why in 2017 I started my Fashion Blog. To prove people that Developers can be Fashionable. Few collegues encouraged me to go for it as they loved my Work Outfits and my Styling. I feel very proud about the fact that I can be an engineer as well a fashionista. I have been blogging for 4 years now and trust me the journey was not easy. Being fashionable and sharing same in platfforms is althogether a different task. Understanding how to increase the reach, various agorithms and reaching to brands for building relationships. I tried various things and slowly things started working out for me. I have learnt one big thing, building relationships in blogging is the best thing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Now this is fun. 2 of my favorite thing is to plan travel and find good food loactions. I love Dallas so let me share how I make my friends trip to Dallas enjoyable. First of all lot many Tex Mex places for food. I personally feel Dallas have so many good places to eat that I can eat everyday in different location. The first location I take my friends to see is my most favorite place, The Harbor at Rockwall. One of the most beautiful and peaceful location with great resturants and views. Sunrise and Sunset are must here to watch. Next day will be Gaylord Texan Resort. Specially if its around Christmas. And how can I ever miss taking my friends to Galleria Mall. One of my favorite, with great things to do , shop and eat. For evening I would prefer Dallas Downtown anyday. Klyde Warren Park or Shops at Bishop Street with a cup of coffee can wrap the day up in best possible way.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My One and Only. My better half. First day I shared about starting blog, he said Yes. He gifted me the Camera that very same month during Christmas. All my shoots were done by him. My favorite critic. He lets me know if I look a fashion disater immediately. Been 4 years that I have actively blogging and without his help I cannot imagine this thing happening. Fact is I wont get time if he wont help me. Things changed a little bit after becoming parents obviously. Tiny bub is our priority. Leaving out for shoot together became less possible but thanks to my experience in social platforms, I learn how to take some good shots on my own. Again this cant be done if my man wont take care of the baby sitting at home. I would like to give shoutout to my parents too. They are far back in India but from my childhood they gave me confidence to try anything. Even when I started blogging they will review if they liked my content or not. My mom always encourage me to try colors. My dad always shows love to my posts. Its like they are not here in Dallas but they are always supporting from India in the best way they can.
