We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Pennington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler, how do you think about risk?
I believe that risks are necessary in anything that we do in this life. Risk taking has played a major role in my business. The biggest risk to date I have taken in my career is making the decision to become a full-time entrepreneur. The risk was very calculated and planned and has made me confident that not all risks are bad. Entrepreneurship is the career path of risks.

Without taking risks I believe that means one is operating from a place of fear. As long as the risk is calculated I believe it is worth taking. In Entrepreneurship there is no space for fear.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am most excited about my future and how big I plan to build The Rose Cove and just how far I’m capable of taking this. I eventually would love to be a salon owner, Lash instructor and Mentor. I am headed towards success. I will be capable of helping young black entrepreneurs navigate their dreams without the fear of failure. The process of building a business from the ground up has not been easy. There is a lot that goes into forming a business. I am still working every day to grow my business. while it might be hard it is not impossible.

I have overcome these challenges by having and exemplifying self-Discipline, self-Dedication, and self Determination. All of these habits have gotten me to this point of my business and will continue to take me wherever in life that I choose to go. I Always SEEK, and KEEP God first in everything, and in every aspect of my life/business. I believe that The Will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Entrepreneurship has taught me the real definition of faith and gratitude. I have learned that this is a up and down journey. I’ve learned that your work is never done and anything that you receive comes directly from the work you put in.

I would like the world to know that The Rose Cove is a Black Woman owned business that is deeply rooted in love and faith and I pray one day the world is able to share my vision with me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Begin your Monday arriving at Love Field, I’d start w/ lunch w/ a Texas size bbq at Terry Blacks. Afterwards a small stroll through Dallas illusion museum directly down the street. Cap off the first evening with a southern style dinner at Babe’s chicken dinner house. Tuesday begins with a late breakfast with first watch, lunch at OMGTacos, and a tour to Dallas Cowboys AT&T stadium. Finish dinner at Joe T Garcia with massive fajita dinner. Wednesday- breakfast with Two brothers breakfast, Trip to one of the highest ranked Zoo’s in the U.S – Fort Worth Zoo, lunch at Buffalo Bro’s wing bar, and dinner at Perry’s Dallas

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shout out to my biggest support system, my mom. Since the beginning of my entrepreneurship journey my mom has been extremely supportive of every decision I’ve decided to make. My mom always pushes me and reminds me that everything will work out for the best. Without my mom I’m not sure I would’ve taken the leap into entrepreneurship.

Lastly to my clients I am thankful for each and every one that has ever supported my vision. I appreciate all of the loyalty, referrals and consistency. My clients push me to be a better lash tech it’s their loyalty that has kept me motivated. I am excited to see how far The Rose Cove will go!
