Meet Trinity Sorrells | Owner, Stills By Trinity

We had the good fortune of connecting with Trinity Sorrells and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trinity, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I never set out to become a business owner — I just followed what felt meaningful. I was originally planning to become a flight nurse, but somewhere between college and real life, I fell head over heels in love with the power of documenting memories. What started as a creative outlet became something I couldn’t ignore — capturing emotion, movement, and the little moments that often go unseen.
The thought process wasn’t about building a brand or making money at first. It was about honoring people’s stories and giving them something lasting. Starting my own business felt less like a calculated decision and more like saying “yes” to the calling I couldn’t stop thinking about.
I wanted to build something that aligned with my values — honest connection, creative freedom, and the ability to prioritize both my work and my family. Being able to serve couples with intention, while also being present for my own people, has been the most meaningful part of it all.

meaning. My work is deeply rooted in storytelling — capturing emotion, movement, and honest connection in a way that feels timeless, not trendy. I photograph weddings the way I’d want mine remembered: full of feeling, full of truth, and full of light.
What sets my work apart isn’t just the medium (digital, film, Super 8) — it’s the intention behind it. I approach each wedding with the heart of a documentarian and the eye of an artist. I’m not there to just take pretty photos; I’m there to preserve what it felt like. That mindset has shaped everything from the way I shoot to the experience I offer each couple.
Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. I’ve built this business while raising babies, navigating seasons of financial uncertainty, and learning how to balance client care with creativity. But every challenge taught me something. I’ve learned to value consistency over comparison, clarity over perfection, and people over performance.
What I want the world to know about my work is that it’s not about me — it’s about legacy. It’s about preserving stories with the kind of care and depth they deserve. That’s what drives everything I do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m not one for overly curated city guides, but if my best friend was in town, I’d keep it simple and personal — a mix of good food, relaxing vibes, and time to catch up. We’d grab coffee at La La Land Kind Café or Merit (bonus points if we sit outside), walk around Bishop Arts or Highland Park Village for people-watching and pretty corners, and maybe hit a few vintage or plant shops just to browse.
One evening, we’d definitely head to the Fort Worth Stockyards — grab dinner, catch a live show, and just soak up the fun, laid-back Texas energy. It’s the kind of spot that never gets old and always guarantees a good time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give the biggest shoutout to my husband and my parents — they’ve been the constant, behind-the-scenes support system since day one. My husband has believed in this dream even when I doubted myself, showing up for our family so I could show up for my clients. Whether it’s carrying gear, watching the kids, or just reminding me why this work matters, he’s always been in my corner.
And my parents — they’ve modeled hard work, creativity, and compassion in a way that made building something of my own feel possible. They taught me what entrepreneurship really looks like: the grit behind the scenes, the long hours no one sees, and the heart it takes to serve people well. From watching our babies during weddings to cheering me on at every milestone, they’ve poured love and encouragement into every part of this journey. I absolutely wouldn’t be here without them.
